 So it's not just for guitar players. You know, I would recommend this certainly for the learning process for any person playing any instrument. But if you are coming out stereo like a DJ would or a keyboard player or something like that, you can certainly, you know, use this for that and talk about, you know, a good looping performance with, you know, DJ or keyboards, drum machines, anything like that. You can just stack it as high as you want as far as the leveling and you can really make something very cool happen

 I'm currently getting ready for this Steve Vai world tour and there's a lot of practicing going on to make that happen, obviously. So what I will do is take one of Steve's tracks or the whole track or even just a section of the track that I know I just need to kind of play over and get it down. Again, through the USB connection I'll just hook it up to my computer and bring over the file. The RC-3 is great for practicing, songwriting, and even performing live. It has a ton of features packed into a small space for those that require it. It allows up to 3 hours of recording time that can be stored in up to 99 different save slots. It also contains 10 basic drum beats to add to your own recordings and it is USB 2

 Another great feature is the separate volume knobs. One is dedicated to the volume of the rhythm, the other is for the volume of the current loop.  In conclusion, This is a great pedal for the money and extremely efficient when it comes to saving space on your pedal board. Boss RC-3 Looping Station

 I'll be playing a PRS-513 and a Fender Deluxe Reverb amplifier. All right, let's get started. All right, let's get started. All right, let's get started

 Even with all of the features crammed into this one little tiny pedal, it still just functions like a real basic looper and it's really easy to work. I'm going to use the rhythm guide and build a few tracks and then I'm going to play on top of it and actually use a Boss DS-1X distortion pedal to kind of make a different sound for it. I'll be playing a PRS-513 and a Fender Deluxe Reverb amplifier. All right, let's get started

 You can stop, start, overdub, cancel, whatever you need to do with it, just with the regular Boss footswitch on there. There's also an external footswitch option that breaks out some of the features so you can do them one click instantaneously. I mean, there's a rhythm guide on it for crying out loud. It's a drum machine basically or a pattern and it sets it up to where you can just flawlessly record your loops

The tone knob (boosts below 300 Hz to the left, and boosts above 300 Hz to the right) and the comp/direct volume knobs are where this shines. Additionally, with the 2 internal dipswitches available the amount of settings in this compressor going from full transparency all the way to heavy squish is insane.

 To be fair my pedal board is not the quietest but I do have really good quality patch cables but nonetheless the RC3 is loud. When you're playing of coarse it's not that noticeable over the guitar volume. Now if I'm just playing I don't use it take out of the chain. Other minor issues the input; output and foot switch jacks are really close together so if your using large jacks you might have a problem

Danger if you buy the RC3 you won't be able to put your guitar down. The extension pedal to control it is really nice (Boss FS-6) cuts down on bending over time. The RC3 is great for practicing, I did buy a wall wart , the jack turns it on and off kind of a pain mine is set on my pedal board master power supply controls on/off.  I thought I would do an update my review: After having the RC3 about 2 months I find a few minor problems I find it extremely noisy, I've tried with multiple power supply's and a battery no help

Hi there, I have 0 experience with pedals, so apologies for being completely clueless. I really want to try a looper pedal, since I’ve had some fun playing with GarageBand on my iPad and playing over some repeated patterns. I think an actual looper pedal will be a much more powerful practice tool.

I have no idea about pedals, literally none. I have a guitar, and I have an amp. Both pretty beginner level. The amp is a 10 year old Roland cube 20x. I don’t even know how to plug a pedal in (though I’m guessing that part is relatively self explanatory...right?). Do I buy the cheapest loop pedal I can find and upgrade to something fancy later? They look pretty complicated at the top end. Is there anything I need to know before I buy a pedal? Is there anything else I should buy with it? Thank you all!

Looper pedals: where to start?

 I am not sure if noise is the best way to describe it. I am simply running a guitar in and then out to an amplifier. The sound that comes out is a litter "muddier" than the clean sound going in. Its livable for me since I use it to generate ideas
