 All right one final hole in our test here a short little par four we're going to play up with a five iron then we'll have a good wedge shot in to really test you know again the spin of the ball. So a 34 yarder here he's going to throw a 60 degree and see if we get the magic we're looking for. Oh yeah oh yeah set ourselves up three and a half feet honestly more looks at birdie it can't hurt. All right well I think all signs point to positive results here I am very very glad I took the time to test this and I honestly think this is going to go into the bag we're going to keep testing it obviously I have plenty of time this winter to evaluate which tools are going to be the best for me to compete next season but this is definitely this is definitely a leading candidate right now in the ball category and I don't know we will see

 See what the spin is like on those control shots because that's really what I'm trying to improve on here. Alright this is a perfect example of a shot right here where I need that extra spin. I got 20 yards to this pin. Now beyond the pin there's a down throw

 I actually don't have a problem spinning it out of the bunker even with the TP5X so that wasn't an extra thing. If anything now I'm going to get a little more and can maybe play slopes a little better get some backspin on on certain pins. Wear and tear on the cover you know this is just from the practice shots so far and as you can see like this has taken a decent amount of a beating and I don't know that I don't know what that rates on a durability factor but it's not the best. I right here on the course now we're going to play you know a couple holes with the ball just to see how we do

 That's the big clincher right there. That shot. One thing I felt while I was hitting the shots is I could be more aggressive with the Bridgestone because I knew it was going to get some play on the spin and actually work with the green a bit and I like being able to express that creativity which I can't really get out of the TP5X. So I love love love it but so far this test is holding up well

But when I buy balls my favorite is the Bridgestone Tour BXS, for whatever reason it just comes off perfectly with every club (at least when I hit it well). I’m a fan of the Taylormade TP5/X and the Chrome Soft X/LS too but they’re all just missing a little something here and there and the Tour BXS ticks off all the boxes for me.

Currently using the srixon Q-star as it was $100 for 3 doz (NZD so i thought that was pretty good) and they seem good for the price, but my question is, what do you use and why? Do you think it makes a significant difference to justify a few extra bucks?

What golf ball do you use and why?

 Maybe look to the XS version, but for anyone else looking to lower that spin a little bit, a little bit more pop in distance, I think this is a really, really good choice. Thanks for watching.

 You might want to play something like the XS, or you might want to play a Pro V1X, those balls spin quite a bit more on the mid irons. But again, this is a great ball for someone that maybe wants a bit more distance on the mid irons, maybe you play in the wind a lot, maybe you spin your irons too much. This is providing a really, really nice flight. And again, there's tons of stopping power on these

 That's good too. Yeah, really good, really good. So if we look at the driver, again, obviously I'm usually low 170s, I'm just a little bit on the sore side. I've been getting back in the gym a bit, played quite a bit of golf this weekend, so my swing speed's just a bit lower than normal just because I'm trying not to overdo it

46 on foresight is the equivalent of perfect, equivalent of 1.50 on track man. So considering I'm kind of swinging it a bit gingerly today, it's really cool to see how much output is coming from that golf ball itself. Needless to say, it's a very, very good golf ball off the driver

What golf balls is everyone playing these days?

 With the half wedge, I was getting spin rates of 6,500 rpm, which are definitely in the premium spin rate zone. With a full wedge, I was just over 9,000 rpm. So again, plenty of stopping power, plenty of control with short game. Swinging the seven iron at 84 miles an hour, I was getting an average ball speed of 112 miles an hour

I have a very high swing speed 118-125 mph club head speed with my driver. Ball speed according to the track man at my last club fitting was anywhere from 162-178mph. That being said my efficiency is probably not amazing I consistently will carry 295 with maybe 30 extra yards of roll if I’m lucky. So we are attempting to reduce the height of my drives to increase distance, so low spin is a big factor for me, but I need good spin around the greens as well. I’m already hitting a very low spin driver (Callaway Rogue 8* with a Hzrdous yellow 6.0 shaft) Also I want to be semi budget friendly because I’d like to use the same ball every day so I can really narrow down my other issues. I don’t slice much but as you can imagine when I do it’s pretty much a lost ball. I’m thinking callaway super soft? Maybe Titleist velocity? Something with low spin that has a good compression rate for my swing speed.
