Once it developed mold we had to throw it away as we did not want to introduce bleach into it. We started cleaning it once a week and there was no more mold

 Our household tried the Brita Longlast Filters and they were anything but long lasting so to us they were not worth the extra price so we stuck with the Brita Standard Filters.  The lid on the Brita Everyday 10 Cup Pitcher is a pain in the neck and the thing I dislike the most about this pitcher. You have to almost hold the lid in place while you are pouring water out of this pitcher. The lid tries to pop off while you are pouring water

This is important in our household because I have Fibromyalgia and my significant other has arthritis in his hands and we are always dropping things.  The Brita Everyday 10 Cup Pitcher can use both Brita Standard Filters and Brita Longlast Filters

Love the bigger size and it could just be placebo ...

 I washed my pitcher with soap and water and I can see little tiny bubbles inside that tiny airway line. I’m worried that mold can build up, I mean there’s little bubbles in there which means there’s soap in there! And I already threw away the packaging so I can’t return it. So I bought this pitcher and love the filter, but the design of this pitcher kind of freaks me out a little. Within 6 month developed a structural crack and leaked all over my refrigerator and kitchen floor. From other reviews appears to be an inherent problem. Happily, when I contacted Brita they offered a free replacement even past the 90 day warranty. Hoping pitcher number 2 will hold up better
