I'm planning to do the pacific coast route on my old 80s mountain bike. I have some knobby tires on it now, and am thinking it would be best to get some more pavement-focused tires with a lower rolling resistance. 

I'd like something between 2.0" and 2.3". Ideally &gt;= 2.1".

So far I'm considering:

\- Panaracer gravelking SK 2.1"

\- Schwalbe Marathon Plus 2.0"

Does anyone have any other reccomendations?

Best 26" MTB pavement touring tires?

 This is for my JC Higgins fixie conversion and if the saddle is a bit droopy it will add to the overall effect of the bike's look.  My bum is not sore! thats a plus. A BIG PLUS!!

This saddle looks very nice, and has a quaint 19th century England look ...

 The one I kept stays on a touring-converted old rigid mtb. They’re my last choice for a commuter bike, but my first choice for all day & multi-day rides.

So I've been riding on the regular saddle that came with my bike. However it chafes and i know there are better options. How do you find a good saddle that fits your posterior and is good for long periods on the road? Feels kinda weird to just walk into my local bike shop and start holding saddles up to my bum lol

How do y'all find the right saddle?

 -The springs constantly squeak when you ride. -The saddle is heavy (steel springs and rails). -This is the deal breaker: The back end rises up causing you to constantly slide forward. If you raise the nose on the saddle upwards, it pinches you in the front

This is a fine seat that is well built. My 4 star rating is factoring in cost and value. This is a seat that costs north of a Benjamin and it does not work miracles. More importantly I don't find it significantly better than seats that cost half as much

While it is an upgrade from the stock seat on my bike, I wouldn't drop this kind of money for it again.  Maybe to a rider that has a very expensive bike and rides daily this wouldn't be a splurge but for a recreational rider like myself probably not worth the extra money
