 It's basically one notch above their entry level, and this boot can be had in different lacing systems. What I have here is the BOA system, the dual zone BOA, and I'm going to do my review sort of backwards from what other people do. I want to start with the inside of the shell, the bottom of the shell, and kind of work my way up. I'm going to go from the ground up basically, and then finish off with the external boot

So on the shell, on the bottom of the shell, what we have lined on the bottom, you'll see down in there, is what they call sleeping bag foil technology. It's just basically a foil liner so that it can reflect your body heat back up into your foot and keep you warmer than just a standard material down there

And this green cuff system is what they call a cuff lock system, and that's where your boot liner will go down inside of that cuff, and then when you put your foot in there, you just tighten up this lacing system, you just pull on it and it snugs it up, really locks your heel and your ankle down into that boot really well, and then it's easy to release and get your foot in and out of there when you're taking your boot on and off. So it's a nice cuff link system

 You want a day charging around, still have this section tight for the foothold and then crank this top section up tight just to give you more support and a more dynamic overall feel. Now this front mounted closure operates at a ratio of four to one. So it's four turns for every one pull of the cable. And what that does, it just really allows you to dial in the perfect fit, just gives you micro adjustment on there to get the perfect level of support and fit for your foot

 Ok, so let's kind of take a quick peek inside and show you what we've got going on in here. Now as you can see, you've also got what Burton called their lock up cup, low profile inner cuff. This is a cuff that's attached to the back of the shell, it just holds the liner into the shell, again reduces those gaps, locks it back into the shell giving you a more responsive overall feel. It's also going to help lock in the ankle and the heel into the liner, again just creating a more dynamic and responsive feel

 By having two separate independent closure system, it's just going to let you dial in the perfect tightness for whatever kind of riding you want to do. So let's pop it out and just show you how it works. So to unlace these boots, just pop the Coiler out, it will click. Pop the other front and it will click and as you say, just pull the lacing out

 You've also got on this, the mid flex power up tongue. This mid flex power up tongue is designed to sit around the liner a lot closer than a lot of other boots and by reducing gaps here, you're just creating a more dynamic and responsive boot. If you have gaps here, when you put energy into the front of the boot, it's going to have to absorb that gap before it picks up the response and directs it straight to the board. Having that perfect fit in tongue around there just makes the boot a little bit more dynamic

 So as you can see from that, Speed Zone really is a super quick and super fast closure system. Now key to its success is this lacing here. So it utilises Burton's New England rope technology. These laces are really durable and they run really smoothly as well

 That's a vented foot bed that's just going to allow your foot to breathe, wick away any moisture trapped between the boot and the foot and it just again help give that all day riding comfort. So there you have it the Burton Ruler Speedzo. If you're looking to step up performance you want a responsive overall boot that's not going to break the bank then you really need to have a look at this boot.

 Just allowing you to dial in the perfect fit. So what you've got with Speed Zone is these two side lace pulls. The one on the left hand side controls the lower part of the lace, the one on the right hand side controls the upper part of the lace. So to undo these you just pull them forward and you hear a click

 What it also does as well is shapes around the liner a lot better, gives a closer interface between the liner and the shell and that close interface really does step up the performance of this boot. You're not waiting for little gaps in the performance while the boot has to flex to take up the gap. As soon as you put any energy into this liner it's going to go straight through to the boot and straight through to the board. You've also got here a snow proof internal gusset so there's a seal between the tong and the boot on this lower part of the shell and what that seal does is just prevents any moisture getting into the shell of the boot and giving you damp feet

One of my boards is a warpig, love it. But on my others I still overhang a fair bit at -12 +12. 

Wondering if anyone can recommend some smallish footprint boots I can try on in store. I heard Travis Rice’s new DC boots are a bit reduced toe to heel, but keen on more thoughts, any extra mm will help haha.

Boot advice for large footed heathens?

Good comfort and function

 Hello, I'm at GuffinHouse.com and this is a 2020 Burton Ruler SpeedZone snowboard boot. The Ruler falls within a really great spot within the Burton lineup for the 2020 season. It has a lot of great features, total comfort construction so it feels like it does on day one as it does on day 100

 Because of the last and because of the extra insulation, the Ruler really stands out. But then there's an internal locking harness, of course, that wraps around that liner that keeps the heel pocket nice and snug around your ankle and your heel. Now moving into this thing, this is the Imprint 2 Thermal Heat Moldable Liner. Features Manfrost on top, a little bit of Velcro to keep them locked in place down the center of your boot, of course, or down the center of your foot

 Lightweight power panels and internal J-bars. What I really enjoy about the Imprint 2, number one, is Thermal Heat Moldable. So you can heat mold them at a shop, or you can just wear them, and they're going to gradually mold to your foot, which is great. And then another thing, that internal style harness on the shell really does a good job at wrapping this thing up and keeping that heel locked, that heel pocket for zero lift

 What does that mean? Well, it means that you can get your boots on and off really fast and you can make them fit just like you want to because of the special New England ropes that feature a lifetime warranty. I really like SpeedZone because again, you can get them on and off really fast and you get that micro style adjustments of tension. That's one thing that I can't find with a traditional lace. It kind of loosens up just a little bit
