Big Bertha. Nice solid iron set. A bit too pricey.

 I was hitting a pretty nice draw, although it was going left, I was still hitting a pretty nice draw with these clubs and again it was going a long way. If you ironed that mid swing speed range as well, this would really help you get a little bit extra distance with that nice weighting in the back and the amped up lofts that you can get. So again another positive for a game improvement iron and the price is pretty fair as well. So from us at the golf manager team, we think this is a top quality Christmas present you can get for those mid to high handicap players at a pretty fair price

Don't get me wrong, I still suck at golf. But I can tell some of my swings that probably wouldn't have been good feeling strikes before, now feel clean. It made my not so good contacts better. If that makes sense

 I haven't been able to get out and swing the club as much, and today my performance was not up to par. Where I typically swing a driver from 97 to 100 miles an hour. Today, as hard as I tried, I could only muster about 94 to 95 miles an hour. So while my performance was a little subpar today when it goes to club head speed, my smash factor on average was outstanding

 Where I would see a shot that would typically move maybe up to 30 yards from left to right. I was getting minimal movement on the ball flight with the B-21 Big Bertha. Just a slight fade on a shot that I would expect to be a significant slice. After hitting several of those shots, I changed my technique and I went to what I typically try to do, which is hitting two to three degrees up on the ball, swinging about three or four degrees inside out, producing a draw

With a typical driver that is an anti-slice driver, when you apply the proper technique to it, you're going to hit an out of control hook. And again, to my surprise, I saw very little movement

 Now contrary to the way most drivers are made, they're made to be hit one way or another, Callaway set out to design a driver that could be hit straight, no matter how you hit it. So that's the first thing I did is I wanted to produce a swing that was on average about two degrees down and about six degrees from outside in or across the ball through impact.  I've definitely just left the club face open a little bit there, which has got the ball up in the air. But again, they didn't feel the best strikes, which again I think is important. You know, I don't think anyone that's potentially putting B21 four iron in the bag is hitting it out of the middle of the club every time. So again, let's look at those couple of shots, see how they performed

 I'm also then going to hit some shots with each club at a slower swing speed. We're going to have a closer look at the head and then I'm going to talk about some of the claims that Callaway are making about this new iron. We're going to see did they deliver those claims at my speed, but more importantly at those slower speeds, for more of a distance iron, are Callaway going to deliver on their claims. So you look at the Big Bertha iron from the back, we can see a little bit of tungsten down in the bottom, so that's definitely going to help get that ball launching up in the air

The new Callaway Big Bertha B21 irons have landed and are promising fast ball speeds, great accuracy and control. They almost sound like the perfect irons. In this video Ali puts the 4, 7 iron and pitching wedge through its paces and tests them at slower swing speeds to see if they really perform.
