Cancer council active SPF50+ in the grey tube/pump. I sweat into my eyeballs sometimes during outdoor hikes and swimming and this stuff doesn’t budge or sting one bit. Another alternative is a zinc SPF but those aren’t as cosmetically elegant.

I'm looking to start working a very physical job outdoors, so I know I'm going to need to use a lot of sunscreen and reapply often to stay protected.

But I'm a bit lost - should I use the thinker "sport" versions if I'll be sweating a lot? I don't want the sunscreen to clog up my pores and stop the sweat escaping (not sure if this is how it works??), so should I just reapply a normal sunscreen very regularly to make up for potentially sweating it off? 

I ask this because the only time I've ever had a heat rash, it was due to wearing a sport sunscreen on my legs on a suuuuuper hot day when I was sweating a lot, and it took days to calm down - and I REALLY don't want this to happen to my face!

And advice appreciated!! :)

Sunscreen for outdoor work

Cancer council active SPF50+ in the grey tube/pump. It is thick yet non greasy and despite it being a chemical SPF does feel like it leaves a physical ‘barrier’ on the skin. Water resistant too. It’s very good and affordable

What's your favourite sunscreen for your face for when you're outdoors a lot?

I have a farm and am outdoors a fair bit and I feel I need something heavy duty. I find a lot of the face sunscreens I tend to sweat off or they melt away. I suffer from rosacea when exposed to the elements as well.

Best solution I've had thus far is Hamilton Face 50+ under a full coverage foundation that also has SPF. Sounds weird for outdoor work but it seems to really help having a "physical" barrier and the foundation really helped everything "stick" to my face.

So I'm a bit clueless but thinking I need a thick zinc based sunscreen maybe? Any ideas??

Australian Sunscreens: your faves and recs for a newbie?

I don't think you're supposed to layer SPF products (some can interact in undesirable ways) so I wouldn't use both the Cetaphil SPF 25+ and Cancer Council 50+. You could use the lower SPF one on days when you'll be mostly indoors, and the Cancer Council one when you're venturing outside.

I’ve just got a job as a Traffic Controller which will sometimes involve standing around in the Australian sun for 10 hours straight. I currently use La Roche-posay invisible fluid which I love for normal everyday use but being on the expensive side and needing to apply every two hours isn’t really going to suit my situation.

I want something that I’ll only need to apply once in the morning and then again at lunch. I’m not too fussy about what it will look like while wearing but would obviously prefer not to look like a ghost or like I’ve been standing over a deep fryer for hours. Preferably not too expensive as I’ll probably be going through a lot. It’ll mainly be just my face and hands that are exposed to the sun. 

Any recommendations?

Your favourite SPF50+ long lasting sunscreen

- Cancer Council Active SPF50+ (grey pump bottle) - this one is a little thicker, but on my limbs dries down completely invisible. after a reapplication it is a little heavy on the face (i have very oily skin so that makes it more noticeable). my pick for beach/active days or just popping out to the shops with no makeup.

Hi everyone, for those who've suffered a case of stinging/burning eyes from the pink and/or blue CC sunscreens,  if you've switched - which spf are you now using that's similar texture and performance but doesn't sting? 

i'm so bloody annoyed because im just about at the end of the 75ml pink but have another pink and blue each in the 150ml to get through but the man the stinging is killing my eyes. i always apply it right up under my eyes (never had any issues with other spf) and thought perhaps its too close..A few days i applied it up to the orbital bone only and still the same. 

I prefer something Australian, affordable and obviously available at Chemist Warehouse. 

Note: I also have a tube of the Hawaiian Tropic face spf 50 that i used yesterday first then layered the CC pink and i didn't get stinging. I've used HT before but now prefer the aussies ones.  At the same time i dont want to have to use two different brands each time just to avoid stinging.

Even though I take sunscreen seriously for my face and neck (and sometimes back of the hands), I rarely use sunscreen on my body. 

I hate that sticky feeling that makes my clothes or bag straps catch on my skin. 

Does anyone have recommendations for something that completely sinks in?

I was hoping people could give recommendations for moisturizer with spf, not a dedicated sunscreen but moisturiser that happens to have spf so it can be any level (spf 15, 25, 30 most likely I imagine). Really for those times where I might get a bit of incidental sun or when I’m layering other products with spf anyway. Price not an issue so happy for any recommendation as long as product is good I don’t care if it’s $10 or $100.

I am 38 have sensitive acne prone skin with rosacea so any recommendations for non acne causing and non irritating products would be appreciated. I normally use la roche posay cicaplast baume as my moisturiser 2x day so this would replace that in the mornings. I use hourglass veil mineral primer and Nars sheer glow foundation or Garnier bb cream depending on the day. 

I’m a fan of dermalogica I’ve seen their prisms protect would love feedback on that if anyone has used it. 

Also happy to get non acne causing proper sunscreen suggestions too as always looking for product recommendations as I change products a lot and like trying new things!
