The Cannondale Quick 4 comes in Large, Extra-Large, and Extra-Extra Large, and it‘s in your price range. This bike is a “1x”, meaning it has only one gear in the front, with 9 speed very wide range gearing in the rear. Very easy to learn shifting with no front gear changer to worry about. The stock tires are best suited to paved paths, but your local bike shop can swap them for tires better suited for light trail riding if that’s what’s available near you.

I've had the Unagi E500 for a month - Advice on Upgrading?

Personally the Quick 4 hit that sweet spot for me. You could also look at the Apollo Explore or Emove Cruister too. Of the three I would (and did) pick the Quick 4 as I preferred the better suspension, better build, lower weight, and smaller folded size vs the other two. Depending on what you mean by steep, however, I don't think any of the machines I mentioned can do 20 mph up a hill (unless you are really light).
