I’m looking for an affordable printer (preferably &lt;$900) that can print an A2 size paper. We won’t use it often and also won’t be using it to print photos so color quality isn’t much of an issue. 

I’ve been looking for a while but most are very expensive and geared toward professional photographers/artists. The best one I’ve found so far is the HP Designjet T210 but I’d love a few suggestions. Thanks!

 It's 24" wide and uses pigment ink, but does only have the typical CMYK cartridges (plus an additional matte black). With good paper, the print quality is excellent, especially when seen from a typical viewing distance of a big print.

What large format printer do you recommend?

 I was concerned about not being very tech-savvy, needing a printer that was very user-friendly.  After a difficult and frustrating learning curve that lasted about a week, "Dyan" and I reached an understanding and from that point on it's been great! Perfect for what I need. I had to fiddle around with the colors in PhotoShop and in printer settings to make sure they were bright, vibrant colors. I also had to figure out that coated paper brought out the best and brightest colors

One of the sides can be printed on the roll paper, then hand-fed as a cut sheet for the second side

Perfect for non-techy small business owner!

Both consume a lot of ink. I did my research and found that the TA-20 uses less ink over the long haul. I hope that helps.

HP DesignJet T250 vs SureColor T3170?

 Either on canvas or on photo paper, the color is vivid.  The only thing is the ink is consumed faster and the very costly.  All after all, The printer is very heavy and occupy lots of space too, and it can print on canvas very well, the outcome is wonderful.  See the pictures I attached for the result

I've yet to see anything from this printer but problems. Haven't finished the initial setup because of problems - no error codes, just "Maintenance Tank Is Filled". It hasn't pumped an ounce of ink, all the lines are empty. There's no ink in the maintenance tank yet it's dead because the tank chip says it pumped enough none existant ink into it to declare it full

Now I have a $1,000 non functioning printer sitting on my perfectly level kitchen floor, NOT WORKING, waiting another week for someone to try and guess why it's not working as people debate what time it is on what coast and who is going to get paid overtime and when "guessed at", "are they really needed" replacement parts will arrive and when you'll be available to meet with them (you'll have to take more time off of work) because they're so busy and the boss doesn't like to okay overtime.  My suggestion, if you're considering this printer, only by it from a local, authorized Canon vendor who will deliver and set up the printer for you and will pickup a defective unit and replace and install a working unit at no cost to you. (Update 8/2/2021):  Canon came through by sending the tech back with parts

Two weeks later

I just got my printer today. 1st impression it is fantastic. I thought it would come with some test paper but didn’t so I could not test the full scope of its quality right now. I have tested on butcher paper and there is some banding but with some settings changes that should go away
