It prints well-detailed photos, and its good color accuracy makes it suitable for casual color printing.

It has a flatbed scanner, so you can easily scan anything you want, like photos, drawings, or signed documents, and you can also lift the lid's hinges by about half an inch to scan thicker items, like a textbook or recipe collection. Of course, it isn't ideal if you need to scan many pages in a row since it doesn't have an automatic document feeder (ADF). Canon PIXMA MG3620

I have a Canon MG3620. While I'm fairly proficient at refilling cartridges (as long as they've not dried out), this particular printer is a real pain. Of course, it won't recognize the refilled cartridges so then it doesn't want to print bc it can't recognize the cartridges. It shouldn't be this hard

 Likely just going to pick up another printer bc it will run me around $70 to replace these cartridges. Suggestions for a printer with cartridges that are easily refilled and able to be reset?

 All I did was plug it in, install the app on my iPad, click the "register printer" option from the app, follow those instructions. Our permanent setup is wireless with a variety of devices---Apple iPhones and iPads, Mac desktop, Windows laptops, Chromebook---and everyone can print with no problem. A cable for direct connection isn't included, so buy that if you foresee situations where wireless isn't an option. I have had past issues with connecting other brands of wireless printers, so I understand that some people might have problems with this one; I guess this time I got lucky with installation

I figured this inexpensive printer would be just good enough for a student, but it turned out to be better than my old Epson for general household use. Crisp paper printouts (example below) and decent snapshots on photo paper when needed. Duplex, cop, scan, print, wireless or wired: everything I need in a compact printer, and at less than forty bucks a bargain (yeah, yeah, they always gouge you on the cost of replacement ink but I don't print that much so it's OK).  Setup was easy for me, but I can see where some low-tech folk might get frustrated because the instructions aren't particularly user-friendly

 A cable for direct connection isn't included, so buy that if you foresee situations where wireless isn't an option. I have had past issues with connecting other brands of wireless printers, so I understand that some people might have problems with this one; I guess this time I got lucky with installation.  There are some minor annoyances. The paper tray isn't completely enclosed, it hangs out the front; dust-o-phobes I guess could load paper only when they are ready to print

 Black and color ink cartridge usage is better than my Epson (it had separate cartridges for every color). Doesn't drop off my wireless home network constantly as other printers have. No major complaints (yet)!  UPDATE: I have knocked off another star simply because it is very aggravating to troubleshoot problems (low ink, no ink, wrong paper size, paper jam, wifi issues, etc.) when they do occur

Home or student casual use, not an office workhorse

I absolutely loved my canon pixma until it was time to replace the ink absorber pads. I looked around and could not find any for sale anywhere, I contacted canon support and the only way to get the part replaced is to book my printer in for "repairs". 

)  Also, the description and several answered questions state that the printer does NOT include ink. I found this very odd but nevertheless followed what I saw. So I chose to purchase the printer + ink combo. Well, it turns out it did come with both black and color standard size (not XL) cartridges (included inside the actual box)

 Then it returns an error saying it could it could not find your network. Well, of course not lol. Then luckily, it gives you the option for WPS setup. But for some reason this involves multiple steps and combination presses

Decent for the money but has issues

I have a Canon MF264dw printer. It has always been plug and play and works with my Lenovo chrome book. 

I just got an ACER chrome book spin 311 and when I plug it in, it tells me the printer is not installed properly. 

The computer recognizes the printer and shows up with a save button, but then it tells me it is no longer available. 

How do I attach my printer?

Help, I cannot connect my printer to my chrome book

 Computer could not communicate with it nor even find it when searching for devices. Finally I plugged in my cord and wala! Set up instantly, no problem. See what I mean about the cord. One last thing, why are the control buttons not recessed at all? Guess you never had a pet before

 I had my old one, lucky as I needed it. I changed my internet provider, thus WiFi changed. This printer would not auto change like all of my other devices. And since there is no small screen on the printer so you can see the options, I had no idea how to change something so simple as available WiFi

For what I paid, its OK. But has issues.
