It’s cheered me up in this crappy day. I’ve had my eye on this watch since I saw it posted in here with someone comparing it to a Rolex and raving about it whilst lambasting the Rolex (if anyone could link that post, you’d also make my day). The Casio Royale is gorgeous and has lots of features, I believe it’s based off the seiko Royale which was featured in James Bond but not made anymore.

This model strikes a nice balance. I haven’t used the bluetooth feature at all (maybe I’m missing out?). The negative display isn’t too difficult to read, which was a concern I had after researching negative display G-Shocks. It’s super light weight on the wrist, which makes it a frequent weekend companion.

I hope you enjoy this wrist shot of my Casio Royale on a hike in Kauai. I took this watch with me on an 8 day excursion through Hawaii (Maui to the Big Island to Kauai). I was also at my in-laws in Seattle for a bit prior to Hawaii, and it was just the perfect watch for the trip. I was almost exclusively using the watch in nature (in the ocean and on hikes), and it held up so well in every environment.

It would be hard to find a watch more capable than the Casio royale at $20 except maybe a solar gshock. I think a lot of watches today are simply the placeholders for people who are trying to purchase something intangible.
