Civivi Pintail

Civivi Pintail. Almost as good as the WE Knife Rectifier, certainly better than the Elementum.

My Pintail sounded like it was crunching sand out of the box, but after cleaning is wildly smooth. Finally, I didn't like how smooth and plastic feeling the micarta was on my Pintail so while I had it apart to clean, I also roughed up the scales juuuuust a little with some 80 grit sand paper and then a light pass with some 150 to smooth it back down just a little. Now it feels more like linen, is far softer, absorbs liquid at the top layer (gets darker when wet), and all around feels a LOT better to me. Granted, I *do* like an age patina so your tastes may vary, but while I didn't like Civivi's micarta out of the box, it's awesome after a very light mod.
