 So today we're testing out the Cleveland CBX 2 wedge and this is designed for your typical everyday club golfer so there's a big premium on forgiveness on this and that's for all shots so your pitch shots and also around the green. So this wedge Hannah how have Cleveland gone about making it forgiving? So one of the key features is its hollow cavity back design so this has allowed them to redistribute some of the weight so we can see that some of the weight's been moved out to the toe and this actually means the center of gravity can be moved so it's more toe bias so for typical golfers they're misses generally on the toe so it's going to provide more forgiveness when they're here now at that place in the club and then just provide overall consistency on shots then. So we've seen these have been really forgiving on the long game shots but now we're going to take a look at how they perform when we're a bit nearer the green so first off bunkers is quite important it's probably one of the key things how I'd pick a wedge you really need it to perform well out of a bunker and this is quite an area where a lot of people struggle with especially a typical club golfer so if they're going to want to buy this wedge it needs to perform well in the bunker. So first up we see this got quite aggressive milling on the face and these are laser etched to get that effect and this is just designed to give you a bit of extra spin but then we should see from the kind of toe weight and that we get a bit of forgiveness on the shot as well

 That still looks like it performed like a like a premium wedge though. Yeah so they have some extra technology to help you get those that kind of premium feel that you want around the green with spin so for these they've got the toe zip lock grooves and these just designed to give you more spin around the green so we saw that checked up really well once it landed on the green so even though we're getting that extra forgiveness in terms of direction and control and strike location we're still getting that added feel on the green. So overall I'd say with the chips around the green I've had a really solid feel off the face and I think that's down to this new insert that they've put in so they've got a TPU gel insert and it's just designed to reduce vibration so it does mean if you get that slightly thin strike you're not going to get that kind of tingling pain that you can sometimes get for the shaft so that's kind of really important for one knowing how you've struck a shot and getting some feedback on your shot but also just having a nicer feel off the face. So Andy I don't know how it felt when you were hitting different shots and what feedback you felt you had off the face of the club

Yeah I'd agree with that obviously had a few shots with it and I thought the feel was great performance was great and just genuinely a very good looking club as well so definitely one that I think could go in club golfer's bags

 So I was just trying to, trying to flight the ball into a couple, you know, we had some pretty small greens out there on the range to hit at. I feel like they flighted really nicely. Both spun, which was good as well. So those clubs were, you know, the V sole was really, really good

 But this wedge from Cleveland, you look down to that address, it looks like a typical blade. It's got the compact shape and of course the Rotex grooves that Cleveland has become famous for. But on the backside, you got the cavity back design, which gives you more forgiveness and added toe area as well, which kind of brings that center of gravity to a spot where, you know, a mid-handicapper, a little high-handicapper will, you know, find more performance versus a blade wedge. Yeah, yeah, absolutely

Good quality

 I wanted a regular flex shaft but couldn’t ascertain what flex I would be getting. It appears to be a regular flex, although one of the stickers shows CBX2 TS 56 ST RH. At first, the ST made me think it was stiff but after inspecting the shaft further it appears to be regular. I’ve attached pics for reference

Not a $150 wedge

I don't like blade-type wedges from the fairway for full wedge shots or when pitching long distances - even the forged ones. I like the feel of a heavier/beefier wedge on full shots. So, my typical pitching wedge is a cavity back which I like. My problem starts with the gap, sand and lob wedges which no one seems to make in a forgiving club anymore - All I have seen for years are the blade types which I don't like

 It is heavier than my current wedges so it took me a minute to get used to the feel. Turns out, this is going to be of great benefit to me. The picture I attached is my second round of balls I hit from a range of 20 to 30 yards. I was amazed

 I felt like I needed something a bit more forgiving so I thought I'd try the CBX2. I unwrapped this club (56 degree/12 bounce) yesterday and went to the practice green. It is heavier than my current wedges so it took me a minute to get used to the feel. Turns out, this is going to be of great benefit to me
