That was years ago, when I did my tanto hace hollow ground version of this guy dead, centered, really good deployment and lock up so now, let's see how it handles the baton and after Tawney how the deployment is. I would never be doing this with any other type of folder, but we are testing it and saying

It'S really good, so the edge geometry with the new flatter grind over the hollow that I used to know is doing a really really nice, I'm not seeing a detraction as of yet in its performance of slicing it.  So it is my old previous generation recon one as you can see, there is no marking of the blade steel and the previous variant did use a Teflon, coating or Teflon based paint, so it is pronounced to be to getting these scratches another upgrade on them. On these new generations is that it is using a dlc coating. So here is my first recon that I bought. It is the tanto variant, so there are three variants of the of the Recon out there, or should I say three blade configurations in this format

 Okay, so the weight of this knife is 150 point 25 grams, which is five point three ounces. The model number this one is 27 TL, c CH and sadly, but cause steel did announced that they will be discontinuing the the xh b, still variant because of materials or shortages, so they switching to s35vn. The price will not change. So this one has answer p of 169 point: ninety five dollars and here's the comparison

If you like a Americanized, ento or maybe a speed point, then you are, you are covered and also, if you have small hands, then here is the medium size, so really great a great option from cold steel out there. If you are looking for maybe something cheaper, then check out the cold Steel's Voyager series, they have a FRN nested, a nested Leinart handle and also you have four or five different blade configurations out there, so these knives are still made in Taiwan

Cold Steel Recon 1 - Clip Point New Version

Kershaw knockout m390 usamadeblade exclusive is probably the best all around knife at this price point. Cold steel recon 1 if you want something big and rediculous that you can beat on all day long.

anyone have some recommendations for knives around $100?

 I haven't tried to start fires or baton with it yet, but the blade looks built to take both.  At 5.6 oz., this thing is a beast

 I understand that the action can be loosened to drop-shut, but it comes tight, one-hand opening, probably best to two-hand close until you can break it in a bit.  This is not an urban/suburban edc unless maybe you're law enforcement.  I have better knives and better steels, but IMHO, at under $100, this is an absolute steal (no pun intended). I have an intended use for it (not a weapon), and am more than satisfied

 In short, it's overbuilt for box cutting and package opening--but it will certainly handle those kinds of tasks.  But for what it is, a rock-solid folder and a huge hunk of very sharp S35vn, it's a great knife.  What this knife is not: it's not a toy. If you need a fidget toy, this is not your best choice

Closest thing you'll find to a fixed blade

 I don't, if you didn't, have the markings on the blade. You would not be able to tell the difference. They'Re both premium quality steels, you know high-end it. You know it's, it's a cognitive bias

 You know the way to actually collapse. These with one hand as you keep your finger in the toil and this ricasso here comes down, so it won't hit your finger, but look how easy that blade drops. It'S just effortless it. The knife is just premium quality it even more than it used to be this

 You know is that less George ZT, which is a little smaller blade, but you can see how much smaller the handle is. The paramilitary, which is known for having a large handle. You know it's small and obviously the pair of three lightweight, so you know if you're looking for a value, folder think about what they're giving you here for 90 bucks or 100 bucks, even you've paid for my Center 110, getting a premium quality steel. You know the paramilitary and this steel right now is a limited exclusive

Cold Steel Recon 1 S35VN Spear Point DLC G10 Tri Ad Lock Knife Video

It would be a Cold Steel American Lawman or Recon 1. Completely rock solid knives, borderline fixed blades with the triad locks on them.

I’ve heard alot of mixed opinions on cold steel. Some people say their stuff is really good and affordable, others say their knives bend or break after two minutes of yard work, or that its “mall ninja crap”. Can any cold steel owners here give me some advice?

Is Cold Steel a good brand?

5 inch Kershaw Oblivion, but with a 4 inch blade and bigger grip. The blade was very sharp. The finger grooves are a bit large for my slightly smaller hand, but not too much so. The blade locks very firmly out, as expected

 HOWEVER: The action was very stiff, so I worked it open and closed about 50 times, when I felt something click. After that, the blade became terribly inconsistent with staying closed; It varied between staying closed and staying within an inch of closed, but it would slip up to an inch open from simple gravity, with zero resistance until that point. This was because it seems they added a piece or two to the tri-ad lock, and the piece along the top of the spine (which opens as the knife opens and closes back into place as the knife closes) wouldn't close all the way. I had to push it the last couple of millimeters most times

I don’t have any blades over 3.5” and I feel it’s about time to add one to the collection. What would you all recommend? General requirements for me are:

-Deep carry clip
-Sub $150
-please god anything but a tanto
-no serrations

The rest I’ll leave open ended - Really just trying to see what others are carrying in this size range and what works for them. Anybody EDC blades around 3.75”-4”? Curious how cumbersome it can be. Thanks folks!
