 Another cool feature that you get with this light is that you can actually check the voltage of it as well. I've not seen this in any other lights besides Enduro and Enduro 2 lights. I really like this function as it lets you estimate how much battery that you have left when you're outside. This light also allows you to switch from both smooth to stepped ramping and includes a tactical mode, which is pretty cool

 If you do and it is next and you pick it up, it's not going to blind you as long as you have it on the first mode. So the L130 lumen mode, there is no moonlight mode, but that's pretty common with larger lights. Another cool feature that you get with this light is that you can actually check the voltage of it as well. I've not seen this in any other lights besides Enduro and Enduro 2 lights

 It's just something you get with the L8. This light is really exciting to use and also a great light to show off to your friends if any of them are interested in flashlights or just around. If you live out in the country, I think you'll really be able to make use of the incredible throw and output of the L8. A lot of my beam shots are done in crowded sort of metro areas, and certainly some of the ambient light does get in the way of showing off the true potential

This light just arrived, and I have to admit I'm a little underwhelmed.  I really don't like the green tint even around mid ramp, and find the 'Saturn rings' from the reflector really distracting.

What are my options from here?  Should I give the SBT90.2 another swing in a bigger host?  4x18a seems to have gone up in price since it was recommended, and I can't even find the 3x21a.  K1?  K30-GT?

Alternatively, I am a tint baby and have never tried a XHP35 HI or a SFT40.  Are they worth a swing at first?

Alternative/upgrade to Wurrkos TS30S?

 So definitely smart move here entry level floor. In my opinion, this is definitely a Convoy L8 in terms you need around 4000 lumens 1.5 kilometers of fro. This is definitely an interesting position in convoys portfolio and not only convoys because for such a price, you know the competition is speechless

 And now we've got the high mode here, the decrease the output over time is much more visible. We've got two hours and 20 minutes of total runtime, the body did not achieve more than 45 degrees. So similar. And the entry level of the output is around 1118 lumens

 So really, this is definitely a budget price flashlight, especially with the SBT90 LED, which is extremely expensive, and the battery itself is also not the cheapest one. So basically got the battery and LED and the price of the whole flashlight. So that's definitely amazing. The cooling fins are pretty massive, but you know that Simon is not that crazy guy, so they'll steer the LED for the maximum output

Size - no restrictions

Battery Type &amp; Quantity - rechargeable with built in ports is a plus, I'll have access to 12 sockets so I could top it off while fishing.  I could even use one that plugs into an external 12v battery permanently but I don't want to worry about a connection coming loose while hitting big waves and losing power. 

Price Range - $40-$175 really depends if extra cost is worth it

Type - as a non flashlight user enthusiast I'm thinking one of those "spotlight" form factors.  The handle will stop it from rolling around the boat if I have to set it down.

Lumens - bright, i don't see using it over an hour.

Switch Type - don't really care, I think these typically have triggers

Anything Else? - waterproof and durable, at times I hit waves so hard cooler lids fly open, (Midwest wind comes out of nowhere) a backup phone charger port would be nice but I don't want to approach gimmick category.  Floats would be nice as well.
