I'm looking for a flashlight with a specific use case, and I have a few qualifications that I'm hunting for.

**Purpose:**  Sustainable bright output with strong throw and some spill, inside a relatively small and lightweight package.

**Size:** ~30mm diameter or less, preferably less if possible.  The less weight, the better.

**Battery type and Quantity:**  Not critical but I'd prefer 21700, then secondarily 18650.  USB-C charging preferred. 

**Price Range:** Under 100 dollars, preferably a budget light but it's not important

**Type:** Tube design preferred, again diameter is important

**Lumens:** Sustainable &gt;=1000 lumens output for at least ~30 minutes

**Switch Type:** Not important in the slightest

I want a light with a fair amount of throw (~20,000 or more cd minimum, would really prefer more) in a medium-small ish sized hotspot, yet retaining a decent enough spill so that an adequate field of view is possible.  I'm not looking for a 1000m throw light, but a solid throw IS required.  Sustaining more than 1000 lumens for at least ~30 minutes is required, and it has to do these two things in a body that is preferably under 30mm in diameter.  If necessary a few extra millimeters are okay, but the smaller the body is in diameter, the better.  Weight is also a significant factor, the less the better.  

The above are the main constraints, but in addition I'd strongly *prefer* a 21700 battery, or 18650 as secondary preference, along with USB-C charging.  I'd prefer if this was a budget light but I understand that these constraints make that harder to achieve.  Under 100 dollars at most, though.


It's hard to find proper runtime information for lights in my opinion, since most lights tend to thermal throttle well below their stated, "output."  I know human perception of luminous flux is not linear, but I want the solid &gt;1000 lumen output to ensure the spill is bright enough, and of course the brighter the output the more candela the light will have anyways, all things being equal.

These are some of the lights I've found as strong candidates:

Thrunite TT20 and TC15 have strong sustainable output with decent throw characteristics, but one requires a proprietary battery and the other is Micro-B charging.  

SP35 or FC12 get close but they both use ATR and don't have a constant output.  I'm just not sure if I'd like ATR or not.  I also can't find a runtime test for the FC12 showing how many lumens it spits out.

EagleTac has some lumen info posted on their website which I think equates to the stepdown power output, but I can't find any third party tests to confirm.  If I'm right about that info being the stepdown output values, then they have a few lights which are strong contenders such as the TX3L Pro.

Jetbeam is similar to EagleTac, I think based on their charts that almost all of their relevant lights step down from Turbo to their High mode, and their High mode for most of their lights looks sustainable purely based on stated runtime.  The other problem is that their High mode is stated at 1100 lumens for basically all of their lights, and I'm not sure if this is Jetbeam copy pasting their hardware between lights or if they're copy pasting their stats regardless of hardware changes.  I can't find too many third party runtime tests to confirm.  Some examples of their lights that look good would be the KO-02, JET-2MS, JET-PC20.  

Now there's also the Convoy S21A with SST40 which can sustain around 850 lumens and has a decent throw, but I think for my application that it'll be lacking just a bit of desirable throw and brightness.  Convoy also has the M21B with the SST-40, but it's a touch big at almost 36mm, and of course Convoy lights don't have onboard charging.  

I also stumbled upon a [YouTube review of the Astrolux ST01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KIphrN8ueY) which looks promising with the SST40 model, but I can't find any other information on it to test the runtime performance of the light.  That reviewer is also unwilling to test the light for me.  Runtime info on this would be nice, if anyone has the data.  Based on the limited test of the XHP model on Turbo from the video, I'm hopeful that on high the SST40 can sustain high mode, which is about what I'm looking for.

What about some of the popular Hank lights that this place talks about, like a KR1, D4V2 or something?  I can't find any runtime tests of the brighter LED choices for these type lights, so I don't know how they'd stack up against these above lights.

I've also recently heard about the SFT40 emitter, which is supposed to be fairly throwy.  How would it perform in like a Convoy S21A/B or the FC12?  I don't know much about it and I don't think I've seen any test with it at all.

Sustainable runtime bright flashlight suggestions

Convoy S21B.  Compact for 21700, and so cheap you can buy several to try out the wildly different LEDs for the price of a single light from many other brands.

② I have an old LED Lenser H14R.2 headlamp, and even though it is strong, I just hate the large battery pack... So I was thinking what about an Acebeam H30? - Is this the ultimate 21700 headlamp? If no, what is **and why**?

Which to get?

Hi guys. Im pretty New with flashlights and i own a sofirn SC31 pro that i bought for work. Since i work in a european Metro all Day i need a bright and reliable light source. I Fell in love with my little buddy pretty quickly. I just think it sometimes lacks some Range.

I want a small light that is not to pricy, so i thought that the IF25A could be a good Upgrade. If you have any other Suggestions in a similar price Range let Me know.

He is very happy with it and thinks having only two modes is the bees knees. He’s happy, I’m happy… win win.

Edit: His intention is not to EDC it. So the ugly aggressive strike bezels will not be an issue and are his liking.
