Same here after my Corsair H100i started failing at one year.  Got a Noctua NH-D15 and not only is it outperforming the Corsair, it is much quieter.

After a second round of my pump going out...
both were coolermaster ML240. First was under warranty, second was just barely out.

I thought a simpler solution would be the old school heat-sink and fan set up (cheaper too)..like us old nerds used to use back in the stone ages of the 2010s.

I picked up a Noctua NH-U12S and its performance is better than the AIO ever was and superficially quieter because I got rid of the radiator and fans from the top of the case.

Unless you are doing some serious overclocking, I don't think most normal users need AIO at all for daily driving.

I know your Krakens are pretty fly looking, but from here on out, I'm rocking tan and brown.

I'm never going back to AIO

 I highly recommend one of those rubber soda bottle opener type things to improve your grip because without it you are going to slip, strip, and curse your way through a two hour install. I'm talking I had to stand up and lean on that screwdriver to get these things in. As much of my body weight as I could apply and as much of my strength as I could muster. Every quarter turn a victory, every screw a celebration

 -  74C full load down to 50C ish- Big gains considering I was using an after market cooler from MSI  If you have a high end chip like a 5950X as I do you start to see real performance gains when the chip is properly cooled.  Sure 5950X's are expected and designed to run at temps up to 90C "Considered Normal by the AMD Engineers"  But you won't be getting 100% performance from the chip as it gradually heats up the curve is designed to gradually to lower clock speeds until you actually hit 90C considered thermal throttle limit for the 5950X  So whether you have high end Intel or AMD CPU, I recommend a top of the line high end cooling solution so you can experience all that hard earned money you sank into that high end chip.  ----- On a side note. the pump uses a MICRO USB interface that connects to the USB header on the MOBO

Hi, I just built my Ryzen 5 3600 and I am noticing that idle it has good temps (45-55) but as soon as I play some mild videogame (LoL or Valorant) it goes spiking like crazy from 60 to 72 Celsius. And my first thought is that the default cooler is not enough. I even used Cooler Master thermal paste. So I was wondering what good options should I consider? AIO's are more expensive than CPU air cooling fans but I dont know if that means that they are better. I've heard that Noctua's fans are really good but they are expensive where I live. Could someone list great budget air cooling systems? Thanks in advance.

CPU Fan or AIO?

  Under load I haven't seen my i5-9600K rise above 50C, and I can't hear a thing. With my old Hyper 212 Evo I would reach about 72C under the same conditions.

 Much quieter than my case fans and the Corsair AIO pump is much quieter than the pump I used to cool my graphics card. overall the performance is great, but the installation was a nightmare.  Originally I thought the rgb was going to be a gimmick and I was planning to just never use it. However the lights on this unit aren't overwhelmingly bright and I found the default lighting scheme to be rather pleasant

  Overall the cooling capability is pretty good but the threading issue on the radiator is unbelievable. Who knows what other quality control issues this thing has that I can't see.  ** Edit Changing review to 4 stars due to the great performance of this item and the high quality rgb solution. I ended up reinstalling the radiator and using a giant screwdriver was able to force the fan mounting screws in place

 And I mean FORCE them into place.  The fans are great. Much quieter than my case fans and the Corsair AIO pump is much quieter than the pump I used to cool my graphics card. overall the performance is great, but the installation was a nightmare
