Correct temperature for the bed and nozzle definitely helps, but more had an effect on warping rather than getting the first layer to stick. Follow suggestions on the filament you have as a starting point and stay in that range. I have a CR-6 SE, so I don’t have manual bed leveling but level the bed first, then home the printer, and do a thin piece of paper to adjust the z offset so the paper barely gives some resistance when sliding it underneath the nozzle. Definitely worth mentioning you can’t level a wobbly bed.

Ease of affordable drop in replacement parts and open source are big on my list. I have been looking at the CR-10 v3, CR-6 SE, Artillery Sidewinder X2, Anycubic Vyper, and even just starting with an Ender 3 v2 and upgrading it if all else fails. The Prusa i3 mk3s+ doesn't interest me much because of the cost relative to features though I had looked into it.

I like my prusa mini but my modified cr-6 se can really take a beating and print like no ones business. Didn't print for also about 6 month collected a ton of dust and got knocked around a bit. The only thing I need to do was wipe the build plate and adjust the z height a little closer because I never properly calibrated the magnetic build plate I put on it.

My CR-6 SE is about 4 months old, and worked phenomenally out of the box. After calibration, it worked really well for me.

The ender cr-6 se: right now at banggood for 290 euros, has native autoleveling (big plus), runout sensor for filament, touchscreen and dual z axis that are synchronised. This one right now is a hot contender on my shopping list.
