Performance seems to be the same without having the turbulence problems that the slim had pushed close to the motherboard. I also modded the Cryorig C7 graphene with a noctua fan replacement. Just snipped off some brackets and got creative with some JB weld which worked great and holds up to close scrutiny IMO. Top:.

And obviously there will be thermal throttling, that poor Cryorig c7/ Noctua L9a stands no chance of cooling 140 watts unless there is some extreme airflow. That said, the performance is stellar under the circumstances, with no throttling for lower-core workloads (like games) and shorter all-core workloads (like code compile), and is still also very good for extended all-core workloads (higher than putting a 5900x or 5800x under the same cooler for instance). Other than that my entire case was probably around 60 celcius after extended use which was probably okay but a little concerning, though if there were some way to get additional airflow exhausting all the hot air through the case you might have a better time.
