The Daiwa Exist LT is also a dream of a reel, and in some ways it is even more refined than the Stella, but I personally find Shimano's have the edge for durability. For a more sensible budget then it is between the Shimano Vanford (carbon body) or the Shimano Stradic FL (Aluminium body). I have a 12 year old Stradic which is still smooth, they really are impossible to beat for the money.

Haven't used it yet, but feels really good in my hands. Thinking I'm going to really like this reel. Smoothest reel in my arsenal to date and I own a total of 11, 6 spinning and 5 bait casters. My 3rd Diawa and have no complaints.

If looking for something you won’t have to upgrade in the future go with a daiwa regal lt reel (40-60$) in the 500-1000 size and a st croix premier or panfish ultralight rod (100-130)

Shimano Sienna is a great option at $30, or a Daiwa Regal LT for $60. There's also the Shimano Sahara and Pfleuger President around that price range as well. All great reels. I know there's a bunch of options right at the $100 range as well.
