I have the AW3423DW and do not experience any flicker, nor any fuzzy text. I hooked up a Dell S3222DGM today due to the decision to sell it, sitting almost side by side (desk too small) I really couldn't see any difference in text quality. I soured on IPS monitors years ago, never used one where backlight bleed was not an issue. I keep my room fairly dark, I suppose thats why reflections are not an issue for me.

The S3222DGM is noticeably slower than the M32UC, and given that VA is painfully slow already, that's not a good sign. The M32UC might be OK if you're fine with the amount of dark smearing it has, which is nobody going to tell you as it's totally up to personal perception. I wouldn't risk it.

My Dell S3222DGM has worked wonders for me. Brightness is at 30 and I’m not sure where I left contrast, but I followed some online recommendations for the color profile and basic R G B tweaking in the monitors settings, and it’s a blessing to look at. My Vewsonic XG2405 was also good but I had to have the blue light filter set awfully high on it. The Dell is fantastic.
