 In the combo package for the RS2, they include the same follow focus system that we saw on the original Ronin-S, plus they give you a slightly taller quick release plate, which is just meant to give you more clearance when attaching your rails and focus motor. Another new feature they've added are these lock switches for each axis. Now, if you already own the Ronin-S or another gimbal, honestly, I'm going to let you decide based on your situation if it's worth the upgrade. If you're unhappy with your current gimbal, then yes, I think the RS2 would be a pretty good purchase, but if your current gimbal is working just fine, it's giving you smooth footage, I don't think you need to upgrade unless you feel like you could directly benefit from any of the design updates that DJI has made, like the better portability, the higher payload capacity, the wireless video transmission with RavenEye, et cetera

 OK, All Right What's up guys? Landon here from the Fulltime Filmmaker Team and today we're taking a look at the next generation of the Ronin-S, the DJI RS2. Now DJI has actually shortened the name so although this new gimbal does say Ronin on the side, it won't be called the Ronin-S2, just RS2. Now I actually pre-ordered the original Ronin-S a couple years ago when it was first announced and I've used it for practically every shoot since I got it, so when DJI told us that they were releasing the second edition of the Ronin-S and they wanted us to try it out, we obviously said yes, so even though we were one of the first to get our hands on this new gimbal, we are not being paid by DJI, so this is a completely unbiased review. They simply just provided us with this unit to test out, so I'll be going through some of the newest features and overall pros that I discovered with this gimbal, as well as talking about some of the minor cons that I found during my testing

 I'll most likely be getting one just because of the size, the fact that I can just fold it up and throw it in my bag is awesome. The convenience of the built-in screen is a huge selling point for me as well. The weights, because it's a lot less strain on my arms and back if I have to shoot all day. So for those reasons, I'll probably be getting one

DJI RS2 Review & Test Footage! The Perfect Gimbal?

X-brand from Chainreaction do everything I need. Good price, reliable and get no more wobbly than RS and Fox at 3x price.

I'd like to get a longer  travel dropper post, preferably between 170-200mm. I've seen that the price range varies a lot, but not sure what is the real difference. I'm not racing so I don't need the bells and whistles just reliable working and has to be cable actuated one. (so no wireless/hydraulic)

I'd be thankful some well priced dropper post recommendation in this segment too. :)

  When it arrived the form factor is much more compact than the predecessors. The materials are made with super high quality and machined well for the most part. An exquisite piece of art. I love the touch screen and how intuitive it is

 If you got a defective unit or don't know how to operate be prepared to scratch the black coating off your expensive gimbal therefore lowering any resale value. * It's taken me a week just to become familiar with parts and learning how to balance. Now I have to focus on gimbal movements.

Phenomenal piece of equipment - My 3 star rating is based on usability and nuances of gimbal

 You can fine-tune the tilt by rotating this knob, which is again very convenient. All of the axes have a locking mechanism, which is a standard nowadays. Overall, the RS2 gets full points for the balancing process. Only the pan axis has unlimited motion range, but that is the one that matters, so that is completely fine

 It is not the lightest gimbal on the market, but it is significantly lighter than gimbals with similar payload. I actually wouldn't want it to be any lighter than this, as I will explain later. A huge advantage of RS2 is that it has a detachable handle. That actually makes it more portable than the Weebill S, which is very convenient for traveling

 Being able to remote control my gimbal and be able to perform functions like zoom and focus while also being able to see what the camera sees is pretty critical to me...but the only way I can do that with this gimbal is to either scrap ravenseye altogether in favor of a third party wifi hdmi transmitting solution

 Usually gimbals will totally overcompensate in those situations. So which of these gimbals is going to be right for you? If you need interchangeable batteries, then obviously the RS2 is going to be the way to go. But I think that's a pretty niche use case. For most people I would say, if you're just planning to grab the gimbal, get the one that's going to carry the rig you're planning to mount to it

 So if you want to do a long lens with a person talking to camera, really static like we are now, does a great job. But I was really impressed when we were running with this camera, shooting with a long lens, did a really good job controlling the bounce. Usually gimbals will totally overcompensate in those situations. So which of these gimbals is going to be right for you? I’m new to using gimbals and found this to be too complicated with the support videos provided by DJI. Overall just not impressed.

 My initial effort to charge it had it going for hours…could not charge past 2 bars. Changed bricks to recommended specs, still next day, 2 bars. Then I decided to change the cable…turns out what cable you use to charge the handle matters. Do not use one that you can get at a convenience store

  I found a heavy duty usb c cable, and tried night 2. Within minutes it was charging to three bars, and fully charged without a problem. Cables matter…if DJI would’ve provided clearer instructions/documentation, and what is needed to charge this thing, then I would’ve given it five stars because it is an amazing product. Buttery smooth footage and packed with features, this is the best Gimbal I have used to date

 No matter what lense I used the gimbal would just go crazy or I could not control what I needed to and most importantly what DJI advertises.  I’m not the only one who has had these problems. Check forums, watch plenty of reviews, just do your research before making this purchase. For me it was not worth it
