 Let's dive into the controls. So first, at the top left, we have Mix. This is a wet-dry blend that controls the level of the affected signal. And then at the top right, we have Time

 And to use the Dispatch Master as just a reverb only, turn Time and Repeats all the way down to 0 and adjust Mix and Reverb to taste. Music At the bottom right, we have Reverb. Music Important note here, in Reverb only mode, the Repeats control has a secondary function that will allow you to adjust the decay, depth, and tonal quality of the Reverb. So as you increase this control, you're going to get a much thicker and fuller sounding Reverb

 The repeats of the delay line are fairly clean, but not clinical or excessively bright, and there's this really smooth and musical degradation of the echoes. And the reverb side is slightly modulated to give it some life and movement, and it's a bit reminiscent of a plate-style verb. Let's dive into the controls. So first, at the top left, we have Mix

 This sets the delay time from 0 to 1500 milliseconds. Music At the bottom left, we have Reverb. This controls the amount of reverb that you want, so counterclockwise for less and then crank it clockwise for more. At the bottom right, we have Repeats, and this controls the regeneration of the delay line

The dispatch master works well as an all-in-one delay/reverb for a clean/low gain tone, but for anything with a bit of oomph (fuzz, distortion, overdrive) it starts clipping. Wanted to like it, but it doesn't work for what I want.

 So here's just the delay. All you have to do is turn the reverb control all the way down. It sounds like this. And as such, you can use just the reverb as well by turning the time and repeats controls And I'll put the delay back in for a really nice, well-rounded sound

 Pretty cool. The Dispatch Master will give you a really nice, really usable delay and reverb like this. But it'll also take you to space. So you can use the Dispatch Master as a delay and reverb, or you can separate the two sides and do just delay or just reverb

 This is the tendency of delay pedals to pile on infinite layers of repeats until excruciatingly loud (and utterly non-musical) noise is produced. This is a real flaw in pedals like the Belle Epoch and Carbon Copy, and can get you thrown out of your apartment if you're not careful.  The Dispatch Master's reverb is very nice. You don't get a dozen different types and all sorts of adjustible parameters, so hats off to EQD for making such great choices!  There are things that could be better

 I agree that on a simple pedal, stereo would add cost and not be taken advantage of by many players. But the ability to add a small amount of modulation would be fantastic. Not the awful "seasick" thing that just sounds out of tune, but a little pitch warble. Even a fairly inexpensive delay like the Carbon Copy has this feature

 To my ear, the Dispatch Master makes things just a little tinny or pingy. It's not huge, but it reminded me of my Boss DD-2, the original digital delay pedal. When I compared to the DD-2, the Dispatch Master was even a little brighter. With single coil pickups, I thought it was a little harsh, but it might be perfect with a guitar that's dark sounding

 So let's hear how the reverb sounds on its own, and I've done this just by turning the delay knob all the way to the left. Halfway through I'm going to add some slapback echo, but use quite a bit more repeats, and this actually extends the depth of the reverb. Thank you. And let's try another delay setting

 Infinite repeats allow you to create complex soundscapes by layering your licks or volume swells. But it can also work in favor for the reverb side by increasing the decay and complexity of the reverb tails. Like all Earthquaker Devices, the Dispatch Master offers a unique voice that was created by hand in Akron, Ohio by musicians. The dry signal remains completely analog and it's wired for true bypass

If you're looking for huge clear reverb, this is a good unit, though I found it a bit of a one-trick pedal. One feature I appreciated is how it handles long reverb tails. While many pedals will go into unwanted feedback loops, this extended the effect cleanly.

 So just for fungis I'm going to put everything in the middle for you to hear. First up, clean tone. That is courtesy of an Aries Series 060 going into the Hughes and Kettner tube Meister Deluxe 20 into an Orange PPC 2x12 vertical cabinet being mic'd up by a Shure SM57 and the pedal is in the effects loop. So

 I'm going to turn it back down to about nine o'clock on the repeats. So that was the reverb by itself. Now we're just going to fool around with the pedal with different tones on the amp. I'm going to swap to a crunch channel and just have some fun with the pedal

There is nothing bad with this pedal. The reverb and delay combined are lush sounding. And there really are no bad settings

 I use it as my reverb and my delay. One of the things that I was immediately drawn to from this pedal was the simplicity of it. I love that there's just a few knobs and you can get a huge range of sounds from it. And also the warmth, warmth is a huge thing for me with pedals

 With the repeats higher up, it'll actually go into self-oscillating mode, where it'll just go on forever. So I put it a little lower than that, so it's not quite as intense, but it still takes you to this lovely place. Thanks for hanging out and listening to me talk and play about one of my very favorite pedals in the whole wide world, the Dispatchmaster.

 It adds a lot of sparkle. I don't know if I really have a favorite setting with the Dispatchmaster, but one of my go-tos is in this zone. I like to actually use it as a dual reverb and delay. And so you can see I even have a little Sharpie marking right here of my go-to place for the time

 So when the time's all the way down and the repeats are up, the repeat controls the tone and the dynamics. And so you can get a lot of warmth from that. And then when you add on tremolo, which I like to do, it faddens up the sound a bit. And then paired with the Afterneath, you get this wonderful trifecta

I have had to put it near the beginning of my effects chain because I use an overdrive (Greer Light Year), boost (Klon KTR), and another boost (Zvex Super Hardon) and all that boosting was too much for the Dispatch Master and distorted the circuit in a really bad way. I love it for "lead" tones over chord progressions I record on my looper.

 You push a button, and, hey presto, it makes the sound you like. I gave my son the $350 dollar reverb pedal, and use this for reverb instead, bearing in mind I have a Fender Twin with spring reverb built in as my main reverb. It does one (more or less) really good reverb, rather than 15.
