My audio setup.

 Really missing a lot on these edifiers. For some reason the klipsch just is not as exhausting to listen to either - I think this mostly comes down to the internal DAC and amp in the Edifier.  The subwoofer is the bigger disappointment. It doesn't hit under around 39hz

Prior to these speakers I use the Klipsch 2.1s for my desktop. I am doing A/B tests between the two after realizing the Edifiers just aren't that great.  I've used the Edifiers over a year now and honestly, it's hard to listen to music to

 I realize this is for a desktop but I think for this price hitting 32hz would be more reasonable. Maybe it's a compromise they had to make - the speakers cant go very low at all so hide it with the subwoofer.  Honestly I've seen the Klipsch for $80 new lately, so for $300 bucks I expect a lot more.  The finish and build quality is _WAY_ better than the Klipsch and obvious has more options for connecting to but it just doesn't sound better and possibly even worse

 I am doing A/B tests between the two after realizing the Edifiers just aren't that great.  I've used the Edifiers over a year now and honestly, it's hard to listen to music to. I felt fatigued until I turned the treble down considerably. I feel like it's bumped up in one area near the top that just made me tired to listen to

Weak Sub, Fatiguing highs and detail is missing.

I have been disappointed with them from day 1. I use my desk mostly for working and so the speakers are mainly used for music (streaming from Deezer on the HIFI plan most of the time).

I love the look of these Edifers and also like the numerous input options. What I do not love, however, is the sound! The upper mids are brash and shrill when playing records, and the built-in treble adjustment doesn't do much (feels like it only affects like 10k and up, like cymbals and very high registers and then only minimally adjustable.) These just give me ear fatigue, and I have many other reference speakers and monitors I use that just don't. They are fine for playing over bluetooth, where you can EQ the signal before it hits the speakers, but my record player directly into these just does not sounds good for my tastes

The JBL 550P at $189 is a great deal sub for a bedroom. I definitely grab that while you're thinking about what speakers to go along with it. JBL's sale might not last too long.

Looking for a good speaker/sub combo that can connect to my PC for under $500

 These speakers get a lot of use in many different situations. My initial love of the cabinet design is still there 100%, as it still looks 100% like new. The clarity is impressive as it gets louder, I jam these near high volume and they don't fade or get muddy. The subwoofer being without a grille subjects it to some pretty rough hits at times, but the cone and surround show zero wear and it performs as new

For about $100 cheaper at $250 I could get some Klipsch R-15PMs which I have heard good things about. However I also saw the Jamo S 801 PMs at $150 and liked the looks but I have no idea what they sound like. And at $60 there are the Sanyun SW208s which I think look cheap but I also don't know what they sound like. I am just looking for some nice speakers to pair with my PC and my Schiit stack on my desk. Prefferably they would be small enough to fit on my desk and not under it. Does anyone have any advice or reccomendations? If it isn't on the list you can still tell me below.

Looking for some bookshelf speakers for my PC.

  My only gripe is the nonstandard connectors used to connect the sub to both L and R speakers. One is a VGA cable and one is a MIDI cable. I mean, couldn't they just use regular old speaker wire, or at least 3-wire cable if they want power/ground/signal? I'd happily forgo the bass/treble dials on the right speaker and move those to the sub since I don't fiddle with those all the time, and volume can be dealt with on the remote. But standard speaker wire would have been a lot nicer for setups where you'd like to extend the cables

Sonos is not an option, I might even consider several smart home speakers like Alexa or Google Home or smth. Do you have any suggestions on what I should buy, thank you!!

Hello, I have the Logitech Z333 speakers and for the price they're absolutely amazing, but I have an issue where they have let out a high pitched coil whine-like sound which is very very annoying, especially at night when I'm trying to sleep. Only solution I found is to completely plug them out of the wall, but I don't want to do that every night.. Is there anything else I can do? My headphones are connected to the same PC and they don't have this issue

I'm gonna buy used speakers. I see offers for a pair of LSR 305 for €150 and a pair of 305P MkII for 230.

How  big is the difference? I would go for the more expensive variant if the  sound is better. But if you tell me the difference is tiny then I might  as well save some bucks...

I'm looking for a pair of computer speakers. I don't consider myself an audiophile, but I decided it may be worth spending a couple hundred bucks to get some half-decent sound.

They're supposed to stand on my desk, so I'd prefer them to not be too big. An important property that I'm looking for is that they are literally *silent* when no sound is playing. My current speakers are not and their soft hum gets on my nerves significantly more than their poor audio quality.

The top post says that the "JBL 305P MkII" is the best option at my budget, but read in a review that its built-in amplifier emits a soft hum, so... I'd prefer to not drop €230 on something that's going to have the same issue as my current €20 cheapo speakers.

I currently don't have any amplifier or DAC beyond what my motherboard provides. It'd be convenient if the speakers had a built-in amplifier, but I'm willing to use a separate amplifier if that's what it takes to get a silent system.

I know these aren’t exactly “premium speakers” but any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m a college kid on a limited budget haha.

Basically I ordered the Edifier S350DB after some deliberation (on their way) and I like that it is a 2.1 system and seemed like a quality setup based on reviews. I have 30 days to try and/or return them if I want once I receive them. Has anyone tried these and have any opinions?

I have this really old Yamaha RX-V2600 receiver that I honestly don’t even remember if it is quality or not since it was a gift. I’d pair those with the KEF Q150 bookshelf speakers that I’d order alternatively.

This all would be roughly 90% for near field desktop listening (music, video games) then maybe when I feel like it 10% of the time try hooking them up to my tv to see how it goes for movies and such. 

I’m thinking the Edifier would just provide a more “whole” setup. I can get the Edifier for $200 and the Q150 for $330, so unless there is a decent $130 subwoofer the Edifier would win as far as thumping bass (I would assume a dedicated sub would always perform better than bookshelves trying to do bass).

This would be my first true turntable (I currently have an all-in-one cheap turntable and I want to upgrade). I have a budget of around 400€. I want a really good turntable to complement my Marshall speaker. I am hesitating between the Rega Planar 1 Plus, the Pro-Ject Essential 3 Phono and the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon with a Pro-Ject preamp. 

My question is : is the Marshall Stanmore 2 good enough for the Debut Carbon ? Or is this turntable overkill and I won’t notice a difference with my speaker ? I’m new to this and I don’t want to go too expensive for my turntable if I’m not able to fully enjoy it afterwards. Thanks for any tips and advice !

I just moved into a new place and decided I want some nice speakers to play music on.

I went and bought the Dali Oberon 5 speaker pair, only realizing now that it probably won't run on my computer (which I intended to do). I can't find the answer(s) I am looking for so now I'm here with the following questions:

Do I need an amplifier to get music out of the speakers?

If so what amplifier do I need or what is recommended?

I spent €600,- on the speakers which I never imagined so spent on speakers but I thought I would give myself something nice. Not knowingly that it wasn't just plug and play.

<p>I went and bought the Dali Oberon 5 speaker pair, only realizing now that it probably won&#39;t run on my computer (which I intended to do). I can&#39;t find the answer(s) I am looking for so now I&#39;m here with the following questions:</p>

<p>Do I need an amplifier to get music out of the speakers?</p>

<p>If so what amplifier do I need or what is recommended?</p>

<p>I spent €600,- on the speakers which I never imagined so spent on speakers but I thought I would give myself something nice. Not knowingly that it wasn&#39;t just plug and play.</p>

Hey sorry I’m not an audiophile I just need some quick advice on a set of monitors I have


I have some Mackie cr4 small monitors that I use as speakers (something I want to change if anyone knows of any low budget but good speakers) and the sound keeps cutting out on the left speaker


When I flick the switch to change between left and right the sound comes back when the switch is moving or when I hold it in a certain position but when I let go I lose sound in either of the speakers


Is this something I would be able to fix myself or do I have to get it done professionally? Thanks!

I have always had an interest in tech and recently started to love sound systems, though there is still a lot to learn before I am confident in my decision making. Anyway, this is what I need assistance with.  


I have decided to return my soundbar and go for a more future-proof setup for when I move out. I want to save as much money as possible and therefore I am starting with a 2.1 system (2 bookshelf speakers, found a great deal on “klipsch R-41M”. I’m not sure if i need a central speaker as well, or if they would do the job until i move out, so if you know that please transfer that knowledge to me). The thing is, I have some space limitations due to the design of the room with my TV, so I would like to know where it is possible to have these speakers. Sadly there is no way I can place the speakers at ear level, but I am not sure if the sound quality would worsen (make the directional audio sound weird). Would love if you guys had any idea where good placements would be. Can the speakers be at different distances from the TV, or should it be equal? Can i place the speakers higher up and tilt them downwards? Thanks!

Hi,

I have a pair of Pioneer DM40 Active Monitor Speakers. These will connect to a NuMark Mixtrack Pro 3 DJ Controller via red/white RCA leads.

I'd like to connect an active subwoofer to the setup for a bit of lowend (not purchased yet). If I was to use splitters from the RCA output from the DJ Controller to connect the active monitors and active subwoofer to the same output would this cause any issue?

Hey! My current system is: self built big speakers (not build by me so I don't know the specs but they're really nice), Cambridge audio azur 651a, clearaudio smart phono stage, clearaudio concept mc cartridge turntable, auralic mini streamer.

I am very much lacking clearness and power in the bass. The rest sounds pretty good but not as good as i want it to be. I think my next upgrade should be another amp. 
I was thinking to switch to tubes.. I'd have the chance to buy a destiny KT88 used for like 650€.  I know they're Chinese but I read that they sound as good as really expensive tube amps.
I don't necessarily need a tube amp.
Maybe you have some other tips for amplifiers I should look out for? I don't know the sensitivity of my speakers sadly I am going to try to measure it soon but on my 75w amp I am almost never listening above 50%-60%  volume.

I bought Monitor Audio Bronze 50 bookshelf speakers and would like to use them with my computer for a desktop setup. I don't have an integrated amp but I do have a Denon X2700H AVR I would like to use. 

Currently I am using DisplayPort from my graphics card to my monitor for high refresh rates therefore I do not use HDMI.

Now I'm wondering if I should go ahead and buy the missing subwoofer or buy a different set. I'm looking at the AX210 or A250 as alternatives. 

1. My budget is low. Less than $100. I'd prefer spending less than $75. 
2. What I'm looking for is stated above. Mostly looking for what people think of and suggestions about the A525, A225 or AX210.
3. I'll mostly be setting them up to use with my laptop. So about arm's length away. 
4. I'll be using this with a Dell XPS laptop.

6. General use. Listening to online classes, some games including Flight Simulator. A little music too but I'm not too too concerned.
