 It can be angled for a better sight of the display, but again, it's not well grounded. The I/o is at the back, which cleans up the face of the unit with a micro. USB For power, we have headphone and mic inputs plus an additional 3.5 millimeter audio source they they call for loud speakers for example

 The same goes for their new GSP 300 headset and my other non gaming paired the HD 598. All sound absolutely phenomenal through the amp. Welcome to this review on the Sennheiser Gsx1000. I bought it because the soundcut of my motherboard didn't work properly and the space on the main board for a sound card was already taken by a Wi-fi card. All you need to do is connecting the Gsx1000 via Usb to your computer and start using it. You can change the equalizer between Esport music story and normal

 This is way to basic for my needs. The audio quality is excellent and the device is really cool looking, it just does not meet my needs at all. I would highly recommend the Fulla 3 over this. It's cheaper and it accepts more source devices

 It sounds amazing. You don't really have to mess around with any drivers or software I Think it's super easy and plug and play after you sort of learned the buttons and learn how to use this. it is really easy to use. At first it's a little bit unique so you kind of have to get used to it, but after a while you kind of learn with all the little things

 the sound is clear enough, it's fairly powerful. These are really meant for gaming. and specifically, there's 7.1 virtualization that they have

 Now this is not gonna drive the really high impedance headphones like if you have something at 600 ohms, it's better to get something else. But for most type of gaming headsets that aren't as demanding to drive, these will do it fine. So for music, they do sound pretty good. You can put it in stereo mode

 Like it's really, really crystal clear, especially if you put it in the different modes and you really fine-tune it. You can really tune it to hear for that type of action. Of course, when you're hearing four footsteps, you're gonna have fun of the trouble and the higher ends of the register a lot more apparent and you're not gonna get that full bodied sound as much, but you can sorta tune it so you have a more balanced sound if you're going more for a fun gaming experience. But for a competitive gamer, especially Fps, even something like fortnight or Call of Duty would do well in this as well

Sennheiser GSX 1000, is it still good for PC gaming in 2020?  Gaming amp

 I am forced to keep the MIDI utility open at all times in macOS so I can manually drag the sliders for each channel (luckily 2 and not 7.1 as advertised) one-by-one. This may not be a huge flaw for all who are considering this DAC/amp for Windows-only use, but multi-OS support was one of my primary criteria.

 In reality, it has "virtual" surround sound. I've played around with virtual surround sound in software for other DACs in the past and have NOT been impressed. That said, the implementation in this DAC, despite the limited configuration, is on another level. When combined with the reverb setting, I often can't tell the difference between the virtual surround with my headphones and my actual (very good) home theater setup

 I was willing to sacrifice some features to accomplish this goal. The limited configuration of a driverless DAC was an acceptable tradeoff for multi-OS support. I was also looking for an easy way to switch between high impedance headphones and bookshelf speakers. Overall, this DAC/amp works well in Windows, with the limited configuration options expected of a driverless DAC

OK overall - Don't buy for macOS

  Functionality: it has no mute button. This is kind of a big deal! The touch controlled sound settings are fun, and some of them are even useful, but there's no mute button, which would blow all of them away in terms of usefulness. Now I have to set up a keyboard macro to mute the chat software I'm using, which is not ideal for any number of reasons.  Sound quality is good, but weirdly, voice monitoring is ridiculously tinny

 My previous in-line amp was a fraction of the cost and far more usable (although admittedly it had fewer 'features').  Setup is wonky, but I blame that on Windows -- I've never had an easy time swapping audio devices in Windows and this thing is no exception. Sennheiser is serious about the no USB hubs thing -- if you need one, don't buy this. I'm not super happy about that, as I sit a good distance away from a large monitor, but the warning is clear enough

 Now I have to set up a keyboard macro to mute the chat software I'm using, which is not ideal for any number of reasons.  Sound quality is good, but weirdly, voice monitoring is ridiculously tinny. I don't get complaints, so I think it's just the feedback, not the actual microphone quality, but the monitoring has three settings: none, faint, and ROBOT OVERLORD. I'm just about used to 'faint' now, but it took a while

Expensive headset amp functions acceptably

1 surround really brings a vibrant punch to the audio cues, although less accurate. For example in the Witcher 3, it really brings the environment to life with the window blowing and the animals in the distance. I paired it best with Audio Technica AD2000x headphones for a magnificent sound stage. However it starts to go wrong if you use it for more than just a 7

After a year of use, starting to show signs of wear and failure.

 Once you move it around the volume still isn't as good as my mobo amp for the ability to drive the speakers. Using sennheiser 58x, and Hifiman sundara's. The sundara as 32ohms sound extremely low volume wise compared to the 58x's at 150ohms I'd say half the volume as the sennheiser 58x with the amp cranked to 100.  Bottom line : I wish they had an option that delivered more power because the surround option is phenomenal

If you're a gamer the surround sound is second to none. It's a little finicky getting setup but one it is my god the positional audio is amazing. I've tried razer, & dolby atmos surround this beats those hands down. There are some gripes I have though

Lacks power depending on your headphones

 It does gaming audio well, but everything else is pretty lack luster. I'd probably have kept it if the mic wasn't so bad, just to not have to install the creative drivers.

 The mic just sounds like crap, they cheaped out on it and you won't sound natural. I tried it for about 2 weeks before I couldn't take it anymore and switched to a SoundblasterX AE-5 Hi-Res. Music and mic quality is far superior over the gsx 1000. Positional audio isn't as good but it's good enough
