Maybe if you really want 1080p 240hz you could want it. But the weird colors, the almost no support for HDR from any of my devices (Apple TV 4K, MacBook Pro), and the lack of brightness were way to much for me. I’ve already returned the UHD38 via Amazon. And I’m gonna return the Epson 3200 and buy the 3800 and hopefully I’ll be able to sleep happy then.

So when I discovered that a physical store near me had a discount on the Epson HC3200 (under the name EH-TW7000, here in Europe) putting it on practically the same cost as the 2250, I went for it. While I had noticed some talk of unsatisfying black levels, reviews seemed to agree it wasn't a big deal in practice. I made the faulty assumption that this was in comparison with more expensive modern projectors, and that it would still compare favorably to my 8 years old low budget projector.

I have narrowed it down to either the Epson Home Cinema 3200 or the Epson Home Cinema 3800. The 3800 has a few more features, most of which don’t matter to my use case. The main difference here for me, is the 3200 has a 40,000:1 contrast ratio and the 3800 has a 100,000:1 contrast ratio.
