Ever since Epson released the first WorkForce printer back in 2008, I&rsquo;ve complained about the running costs of this business-oriented brand. Here we are 12 years later, with all sorts of new technologies and marketing strategies designed to reduce the per-page cost of ink, and the WorkForce and WorkForce Pro lines still use standard ink cartridges that make it too expensive to print more than a few hundred pages a month.

 If you print several hundred or thousands of pages each month, that per-page cost difference adds up to hundreds or even thousands of dollars over the life of the machine.

6ppm for printing our entire suite of test documents.&nbsp;This is just edged out by the WF-4830's 12ppm.

 But there's no Epson bulk-ink solution for smaller offices with a monthly volume under 500 pages.

 I called Tech Support, and the advice was ridiculous. The technician wanted me to run an ethernet cable directly from the router to the printer, which would not be feasible on a daily basis, or reconfigure my WiFi system specifically for the printer even though it would make other operations more difficult. (I actually did move the WF-4820 to a position where I could connect it directly to the router, and that solution did not work so basically the advice from Tech Support was terrible. And it was frustrating because the technician had the stereotypical attitude of the problem cannot be their device

 Sadly, the excitement turned to extreme disappointment when I tried to set the WF-4820 up on the network. The WF-4820 connected to the network relatively easily, and I could find the WF-4820 when I used the iPhone app, EpsonSmartPanel. However, part of installing the printer driver on the iMac requires the iMac to find the printer on the network, and that simply would not work whether I tried an Ethernet cable connection or WiFi connection. I even used a USB cable, and it did not work

It jams on a near daily basis, it often pulls 2-4 sheets through instead of one, its awkward to refill the paper tray, it was difficult to set up its scan interface with my computer, it goes to sleep overnight and then has to be shut down and restarted to get it to connect with my home network. The problems seem endless. I'm seriously considering junking it and trying something else. Mark this experience down as wasted money and frustration

6 was compatible, I purchased an Epson WF-4820 All-In-One printer. I had to use the disc that came with it to install the software to connect the printer with my computer. When I installed the disc, I just got an Epson icon and a blank page and the software wasn't working. After wasting hours, I finally called Epson support who let me know that the disc provided would not work on my MacBook Air

I normally don't write reviews, but I will to save you time. My old HP printer died and after checking to see if my MacBook Air software version 12.6 was compatible, I purchased an Epson WF-4820 All-In-One printer. I had to use the disc that came with it to install the software to connect the printer with my computer
