 With a larger monitor (47" in this case) it was almost impossible to line up the tab with the swing arm because I couldn't see a bloody thing with the monitor being so big and the vesa mount wanting to be installed FLAT. (Like the same angle as the surface of the desk, not vertical like a normal person would expect.) Further, if you have a Samsung monitor with M8 size VESA mounts, don't bother with this arm at all. They send the wrong size screw and expect you to order an adapter kit to compensate for the needlessly long M5x20 screws they ship with

Negative up front: The VESA mount that attaches to the arm wants to do so at a 60 to 90 degree angle. As in close to FLAT. So, I reluctantly bought two of the amazon basics (ergotron) arms and I sent them back after just 12 hours.  **Absolutely horrible**.  Paint chipped off already in multiple spots,  bolts with damaged threads, nearly impossible to adjust the monitor AFTER trying all the adjustments from minimum to maximum, extremely cheap parts like the plastic cable management thing, etc.  Trying to adjust the monitor around actually just bend the hell out of the pivot joint.  I'm honestly just appalled.

**One of the arms broke, before I even put a monitor on it.**  For $107 this is just ***embarrassing***.  And the fact that ergotron sells the same arm for like $180 is just maddening.  This thing should be $20 tops.  I've no idea how these things get good reviews.  Maybe they are all fake?  Who knows.

Monitor Arms that don't suck? (2022)

I received this arm today and mounted a Seiki SM40UNP monitor on it, which is ~38lbs and 40". So far so good! The arm handles the weight well, even at maximum extension.  The HX is less maneuverable than the LX, as you might expect from a much heavier arm designed for much heavier loads. The HX is significantly more stable than the LX though - there's very little flex in any part of the arm, so the monitor doesn't wobble much when you poke it

 Before mounting your monitor, push down on the arm at full extension until it starts to move and observe the reaction of your desk. That's approximately how much force your desk will have to endure with the monitor attached.  I chose the Ergotron HX over the Humanscale M8 and Locktek's heavy duty arm, and so far I think I made the right choice. It looks and feels premium and sturdy, and comes with good instructions and labeled parts/tools

For your heavy monitors, does the job well

What I ended up doing is going with the Ergotron HX, as they released a bracket specific for these large monitors, and a [tall fixed rod mount](https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SKGXMNV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for the smaller screen. The challenge is that the G9 with its curve creates issues for most of even the high-end office level monitor arms, so the HX is the only one I've found to really support it that isn't a fixed tilt, but doing so means you can't mount another above using the same arm

Hi, i just bought a Samsung Odyssey G9 and i want a 2nd Screen above it. I need to mount it to the Desk, because the wall has pipes in it. I thought about one of those clamp style mounts, but i cannot find one that supports the 15kg of the g9 and the weight of the other monitor. Thanks in advance :)

  Overall very impressed by the arm. It's very smooth and fluid to move around, and it has shown no signs of drooping (after adjusting the spring tension). The only negative, and it's a big one, is the price. If you don't need this much load capacity, the next best option (and one I would recommend) is the Locktek D7L (up to 33lbs) at over $100 less

I was in the market for a heavier duty monitor arm as my trusty D7L was just not cutting it on my 49" X800E. Having made the decision recently to switch to the LG CX 48 OLED, I decided it was time to finally get a monitor arm that won't droop/sag under the weight of a larger display.  After doing some light research, it turns out the Ergotron HX is really one of the only solutions, if you're looking for a load capacity of more than 40lbs.

 Note, you may want to adjust the spring tension on the arm section with the VESA plate as it is a bit of a pain to adjust afterwards as I learned. For the CX 48, I had to also purchase a VESA adapter as the included brackets only support up to 200x200 mounting.  Overall very impressed by the arm. It's very smooth and fluid to move around, and it has shown no signs of drooping (after adjusting the spring tension)
