What are your favourite blush products?

 It’s so awkward to hear people joke about your three month old son hitting up the strip clubs, but this is a review of the product, not my husband. I guess the product was long lasting, but it certainly didn’t stay in place.

So, I'm not sure what I expect out of this, part of it is just a need a vent and there's nobody IRL that I can talk to.

To summarize my life story briefly. I've always been bullied and given flak for my appearance, the exact facet of my appearance has changed from glasses (the bullying started when I was 4), to big front teeth growing in early and my weight - I was never even particularly big -  and my acne/skin. At this point, I'm 27 and I've had severe skin problems for over a decade - my first prescription is dated early 2010.

Self-esteem is pretty much a thing other people have. What little I do have tends to crumble when I see myself in a mirror and god forbid I have to shave.

To summarize more recent events. In March, I tried a dermatologist in Japan after spontaneously bursting into tears over my appearance. I was given a lot, and I mean a lot, of drugs. At one point, I was taking 21 tablets a day and using a liquid and a cream twice a day each - all this is just for my face. After some time, my face acne largely cleared up and the dark red parts (hyperpigmentation) on my cheeks cleared up and the redness generally softened and looks less mottled now.

However, my face is still pretty red and shaving is still bothersome (but better than before) and I asked the dermatologist on Tuesday if there was anything he could do about it. He said no. He recommended me to a private clinic for surgery, but he said something along the lines of "It might not work and the results might not last." My Japanese is at the low end of conversational and this is the generous interpretation of what he said - he sounded much more doubtful.

I have just been to the recommended clinic to book an appointment - easier to make up for my poor Japanese in person. When it was time for the why, I briefly pulled my mask down (don't worry, there were screens too) to show them and one of the receptionists visibly winced - some combination of surprise and sympathy, I think. To make it worse, I thought my skin was looking better than usual today AND my appointment won't be until mid-April. 

So, not only does the receptionist's reaction undercut what few nice pleasantries I get - "It doesn't matter," "It's not important," "people don't notice and if they do, they don't care," I now have to wait something like 16 weeks to be told there's nothing he can do and finally be told that I'm stuck with my unfortunate looking face.

The foundation is ok and oxidizes very quick, the matchstix are dry and patchy, the highlighters are fine but overpriced &amp; I can get better ones for cheaper, the eyeshadows are terrible considering the price, and the eyebrow pencil is a flop. I do like their lip products though.

I just find that people seem to hype everything they put out because it’s Rihanna? If you ever criticize them, you get dragged. I noticed that people hate anytime a Rare Beauty or KKW beauty product is launched (even though I do think they have some great products) but with Fenty, it’s nothing but praise. I feel like they’re not bringing anything to the table that other smaller (and bigger) brands aren’t doing better. Do y’all think people actually like Fenty beauty genuinely or is the hype mostly based on Rihanna’s name?
