 I know everyone is into the bluetooth earpieces and earphones thing right now, and you know, Airpods and airports pros and all that, but they don't really match up to the level of wired ear pieces, especially when you can get them for much cheaper and they sound much better. There's only a few reasons why you would get bluetooth earpieces. Like maybe you want the transparency mode or you want to use it for sports, then yeah, you would get a bluetooth earpiece. But otherwise, if you are traveling or you really want to enjoy good music and good audio quality, then you gotta get yourself a wide earpiece

$100 FOR AMAZING AUDIO - FiiO BTR3K Amplifier Review

Fiio BTR3K and Shanling UP2 ive tried, and both have decent microphones, with Fiio being the louder/more sensitive one. Qudelix 5k also should have a good mic by samples i heard online and has a gain setting for the mic, though this one doesn support aptx LL, just adaptive which has a bit more delay, still better than the rest of the codecs in that regard.

Right away I say I am with y'all on this, I live wired, I live best audio quality possible, so I don't need any convincing, but over and over again I see in our local communities more and more people looking for wireless (radio, not bluetooth, latency reasons I can absolutely relate to) headphones with a microphone and I am honestly much more okay with it, I can also relate to this wish for a wireless headset.

We are fighting on three fronts here:  
\- build quality - plastic to metal ratio has always been extremely high, probability of plastics breaking likewise  
\- audio quality - usually too much bass, bleeding heavily to other frequencies and muddy presentation  
\- mic quality - fortunately considering how shitty these have always been it really seems they don't care about it...like really, I feel like I will refund my whole lunch through my mouth every time I hear someone, so sterile, too much processing w/ too aggressive noise cancellation.  
And basically there is the fourth one, price...but, I think paradigm has shifted and if it is wireless, than people seem to be more keen on paying over $100, which is not the worst place to be. 

Now, we cannot fight this fire with our audiophile/budget audiophile fire, so my question is, has any like-minded enthusiast tried some of them and found some good ones? And I really mean it like so, we don't need gems, we don't need perfection, there will be always buts and butts, but we need to steer those people towards least shitty options.

Let's put our heads, hearts and minds together and let's help those gamers a bit.

Wireless headset nightmare - has anyone managed to plow through a sea of wireless (as in radio, not bluetooth) and find some good ones?

  Reason why I dropped this to 3 stars.  This device, either because of the sound signature of the dac chip (an AK) or something else, didn't have the power to provide oomph to my 12 driver JH Audio iems. It was very subtle . 

Excellent but needs more power

And since I was at it, decided to hook the Suca headphone tube amp as a preamp, just for the heck of it and since it’s not getting much use lately. HOLY COWBOY!!!. Don’t know if it’s the FiiO, the tubes or the combo, but these things sound amazing now! Blow my Fluance, and pretty much everything else I’ve heard lately out of the water.

Tinkering around, I think I found something really nice.

Get a BTR5. This one isn't worth it.

Brand new to this SR and need buying advice: Looking for over-the ear, bluetooth, great sounding phones to stream music from an iPhone. I bought the AirPods Max and I like them but, alas, they cannot perform in cold weather. Their battery drains from full to zero in a matter of minutes while walking (I live in Minnesota). I had the Bose QC 35II's which operate in the arctic nicely but I'm looking for a high-end pair to replace them. I can go as high as $1500 for the right phones. Thanks.

Cold weather headphones advice needed.

Battery life not as advertised.

My strongest recommendation is to start with a Fiio BTR3K ($60-$70) or Fiio BTR5 ($110-$130). These are wonderful battery powered DAC/Amps that make listening so much more enjoyable because of their incredible flexibility and really satisfying build quality \[a Titanium BTR5 matches a Space Gray iPad Pro quite nicely\].

Budget - $200-$250. I’d spend a bit more for the right headphones, but I’d prefer to keep it around $200.

Source/Amp - Apple Music on a 2020 iPad Pro, iPhone 12 Pro, and 2020 13” MacBook Pro. It will mostly be used with the iPad Pro. I’m considering also subscribing to a service with lossless audio, but I’m waiting until I get headphones so I can compare the quality to Apple Music before making a decision.

How the gear will be used - I need noise isolation since I’ll sometimes be listening with a child in the room. I also don’t want to listen at night without waking anyone up. It will mostly be used at home.

Preferred tonal balance - Some bass would be okay since I sometimes listen to Hip Hop, but not too much. I like to feel like I’m in the room with the musicians. Clear, detailed audio. I like to get lost in the music. I don’t like when the highs sound harsh.

Preferred music genre(s) - Lot’s of classic rock from the 60s through the 90s. Metal. Hip Hop. Jazz. Oldies. Pop from the 80s and 90s. I’ll use them for movies and gaming also (no online so I don’t need a microphone), but mostly music.

Past gear experience - I’m currently using AirPods Pro. I don’t hate them. They’re cool for what they are. But I want a pair of wired over the ear headphones for critical listening of music.

I essentially want the best experience I can for streaming music. I don’t want headphones that are overkill for my situation. I don’t anticipate going beyond streaming from my iPad anytime soon.

Headphone recommendation

Not quite filling my need

I never really cared about headphones, thinking I couldn't make out any differences anyway. Last year, I started watching Dankpods and he got me a bit curious. I got some Samson SR850 for Christmas, along with a Fiio BTR3k a while later and was absolutely blown away how good music can sound.
