Hello I am looking for a 70/30 ski in around 90mm width. I like to charge hard on groomers but also really enjoy trees, glades and bumps at a moderate speed. I also want something I can plow through chop on the resort. I am 174cm, 160ish lbs and ski at an intermediate advanced level usually around the PNW.

So far my quiver is: 18/19 Blizzard Rustler 10 and 19/20 K2 iKonic 84 non-ti. I am usually on the Rustlers for most of my outings but they do lack a top end on the groomers. I got the iKonics for a good deal. They lay down a good carve, push through chop and can handle a few inches of snow. But they also get pretty iffy going all out on the groomers and not the best in the bumps/trees.

I am looking at the Dynastar 90 m-pro, Salomon Stance 90 or the Armada Declivity 92 ti no greater than 180cm length. This ski will potential replace the K2s. The only ski I have demoed close to this list is the Salomon but in 96 at 182cm and found them to be what I am looking for.

Help with ski quiver

 Shape TI is basically a length correct sheet of metal that you can kind of see. I'm sure we'll cut to some b-roll situations here. It's a raised sheet of metal that's in the ski that is appropriate for the length. Gives the ski torsional rigidity, it makes the ski a little more damp, and it makes it just ski better at higher speeds and on shittier conditions

 Obviously being 108 underfoot, it's a little more soft snow oriented. It's only six millimeters wider than the 102 on paper, but it feels like something that's much more geared towards that softer condition. One of the things I really like about this one in particular is that it's hugely, hugely improved from last season. So the reason I like the Ranger 108 so much is because it's floaty, it's still energetic, and it's playful

 This is kind of like my, I'm going to go ski some fun stuff and I need a ski that can kind of handle some speed, handle some sketchier terrain, and I don't want to go on like some super lightweight trek. Ski is still fairly lightweight, but it's not by any means like a Transalp or a Hannibal from Fisher. It kind of sits in its own class. So I'm 5'11", 220 pounds

The Ranger series is all new and improved for 2023 and it's chef's kiss.

Intermediate skier looking for new experiences

 You know, a little bit turnier of a personality allows you to really kind of get into the snow and bounce around, kind of giving it that kind of purposing technique. But we, you know, we're liking that shorter turn radius. When you do get it back on trail, you can definitely feel it pull you around. You know, the shovel is flexible enough that you can access the whole sidecut

 Still got that good positive camber underfoot. But pretty long tip rocker here, you know, starting down where my fingers are, leading to that nice, pretty moderate splay. And then nice, spoon-y tip shape as well. That's going to keep you up and out of the snow, combined with that rocker profile

 But really nice overall ski here from Fisher. Big fans of this new 108. And if you like that TI version in the past, you know, this is probably a bit more playful of a ski. Not quite as demanding, a little bit more agile, but not quite as, you know, powerful straight line, full energy

 Why this part is right about here, so you do get a nice, smooth entry point to the turn. And then in the tail, you know, not a twin tip in the freestyle sense, more of a freeride version, going to give you that nice wheelie-ing opportunity when you're in fresh and deep snow. That's a nice splay there for sure. You know, more of a squared-off shape at the end here

Ski Shop Rep told me not to buy Nordica 100s.

If you get the chance to demo, I would give the new Fischer Ranger 108 a try as well, it has a more traditional profile than the Bent series but the same pop on the tail as the 110 (my favorite in the Bent lineup). If you’re willing to go a little wider, the Blizzard Rustler 11 (112 underfoot) is a really fun pow ski too with similar features to the Ranger and QST 98 — shaped titanal and partial sidewall for stability underfoot, but really fun soft tips and tails for smearing turns.

TLDR: looking for second set of skis, preferably around 105-110 waist with a focus on maneuverability for Colorado.
Specs are 6’0, 195lbs

So the last two seasons I learned a lot about my skiing since moving to the Rockies from the east coast. Primarily is that black run = bumps, and ice skiing does not translate to bump skiing. But I happen to quite enjoy the challenge of skiing moguls even if I kind of suck at it. That said, I had the new gen of Enforcer 100s (heavier and stiffer than old gen) and while I could bomb them down groomed and chopped up runs I just couldn’t wrangle them on moguls. So I sold them.

Last season I demoed a bunch of skis with the intent of replacing them one for one, but was always near or under 100mm waist. Until a trip to Heavenly I got on some Soul 7s (106 I think?) and had an absolute blast. After that I decided I need two skis.

My focus is I wanted something narrow waisted that can really rail groomers and do well on firmer snow when we haven’t gotten anything fresh, while still having a lot of maneuverability on bumps and trees and found the Black Crows Serpo (92mm) to be a great blend and picked them up on a year-end sale.

For the wider ski, I intended to also focus on something highly maneuverable as I improve my skills off-piste, but that can double as a pseudo powder ski and generally do well in soft snow conditions. 

Right now my short list is the new QST 106 and the Dynastar MFree108 but am looking for any additional inputs. I really WANT the Wildcat 108 because they look sick, but I demoed the 101 and they just weren’t as smooth or easy in tight spots as the Soul7s or the QST98 I demoed, so I think I have to move on from them. Also, in regards to mount point, I noticed I felt a lot more comfortable on a traditional, further back mount than a more forward, freestyle type mount.

Looking for Second Half to Two Ski Quiver

Generally speaking, Black Crows are overpriced. If you tried the Atris and liked it, though, and you can find a deal, then it's always best to go with what you know. Similar skis are the Salomon QST 106 and RMU Apostle 106. The new Fischer Ranger 108 could also work

Hey all would love some advice on my next pair of skis!

I’m 6’3 and weigh between 185-95 lbs on Nordica 94’s 185cm’s. Ski out West. Probably would consider myself intermediate - advanced (intermediate 2.5).  

I ski fast(ish) and recently started enjoying more trees and hitting some air off of rollers (still spooked with actual ramp jumps). I feel like I need to bomb runs on the groomers to get my Nordica’s to feel energetic and lively. I’ve recently been feeling like they’re a tad too stiff and not the best in versatile snow. I also find some issues to hit tight turns in trees and moguls (granted i think they’re mounted too far back which is probably it’s own issue). I mainly ski mammoth and Tahoe (Big bear when I need to scratch my itch) and usually travel to Colorado and Utah for out of state trips. 

I demo’d the Atris’s earlier this season (I think 188 cm) and absolutely loved them but I have improved my skiing immensely since then. Ended up buying the Enforcers second hand for a great deal. 

My main concern on the black crows are the durability on them. I’ve heard lots of issues with lamination. 

My concern for the Bent is that I’m not “parky” enough to really utilize them. And even thought I felt like I could handle the 108 mm width of the crows not sure if 110 mm is appropriate for my level. 

These two are the primary skis I’m looking for bud any help would be appreciated!

It has come down to the following: HEAD Kore 87 (size 180), FISHER Ranger 94 FR (size 185 or 177, i dont know which one) and ATOMIC Vantage 90 TI (size 184), all with MARKER Griffon 13 ID bindings. 


I am 185 cm tall and 75 kg, and I would call myself light advanced skier. I have a mixed use of piste and off-piste, and sometimes I like to hit a few jumps and tricks in the park, but nothing serious. Because I have such a mixed use, it is important that the skis have a versatile use, but still being playful and fun both on and off piste. Do you have any tips for choosing the correct ski, i am also open for other suggestions.

My budget is 4-500 euro, and the three skis I am considering are all on sale right now.

Head Kore 87, FISHER Ranger 94 FR or Atomic Vantage 90 ti??? Please help

West Coast ex racer here - I've used a Fischer Ranger 90Ti as my everyday ski for the last couple seasons. Stable at speed but maneuverable in trees or bumps, and just enough float for powder days so long as it's not too deep or too dry.

As the title says, I am a former high level racer and am living on the East Coast. My whole life I've only ever skied on Race Skis (with the exception of renting when I did some backcountry in Europe) but now that my racing days are well behind me, I am looking for a more all-around ski that will perform well in an East Coast winter, as well as something I could bring on a West Coast trip and not feel like a dummy with race skis on a big mountain.

My biggest hesitation when it comes to choosing a new ski is that it won't be responsive enough or have enough "performance" compared to a race ski, however I want something that I can still carve groomers, play in the trees, and handle those icy/cruddy east coast days. 

Any advice or recommendations are appreciated, hoping I can get something for this season (Trips to Sugarloaf, Lake Louise and Tremblant planned for the winter).

<div class="md"><p>As the title says, I am a former high level racer and am living on the East Coast. My whole life I&#39;ve only ever skied on Race Skis (with the exception of renting when I did some backcountry in Europe) but now that my racing days are well behind me, I am looking for a more all-around ski that will perform well in an East Coast winter, as well as something I could bring on a West Coast trip and not feel like a dummy with race skis on a big mountain.</p>

<p>My biggest hesitation when it comes to choosing a new ski is that it won&#39;t be responsive enough or have enough &quot;performance&quot; compared to a race ski, however I want something that I can still carve groomers, play in the trees, and handle those icy/cruddy east coast days. </p>

<p>Any advice or recommendations are appreciated, hoping I can get something for this season (Trips to Sugarloaf, Lake Louise and Tremblant planned for the winter).</p>
