 Let'S go over what the charge 4 offers in terms of the smart watch type experience interacting with your phone with the built-in apps on the first screen. You'Ll have an exercise app and we'll check this out in a lot more detail in just a bit when we go over all the workouts and then below that there's going to be a spotify app. What this app will do is control any spotify music. That'S playing on another device and that's not only your phone but any other device

 And those were some pretty solid results and then the same thing can be said for walking. Lastly, let's go over battery life. Fitbit advertises that you should be able to get about five hours of continuous gps usage out of it, and i found that to be pretty spot on. And what was interesting is that i didn't see that much of a difference using it with connected gps versus the built-in gps and then in terms of how often i would have to recharge it

 So those are the results using the built-in workout profiles, but the charge 4 also has automatic workout detection, just like the charge 3 and it's designed to be able to recognize walking, running biking, elliptical swimming a generic workout called sport which they say is for stuff. Like tennis, basketball and soccer, and then there's going to be another one called aerobic workout, which is designed to recognize stuff like zumba or a hip-hop class. With any of these, you have to be doing the activity for at least 10 minutes before it will start to recognize and register that you are working out, but you can set this threshold higher than 10 minutes if you'd like, and if, for some reason you don't Want the charge 4 to try to recognize any of these activities, you have the option of just turning it off for running. It was pretty much spot on with the time i started running and tracked for about a minute longer than the other device that i manually started and stopped, but do notice that there isn't a map of the run as the automatic tracking doesn't appear to turn gps On, however, it still will track your heart rate for cycling

Fitbit Charge 4 // In-Depth Fitness Review

I ordered a Fitbit Charge 4, pretty excited. Currently, I'm using a no-name tracker with some Chinese spyware (probably) software.

 I will find another willing helper and set up again to see whether the app will work.  In the community help, people had been concerned about the Google take- over and were assured by the company people that it would not affect service and apps, but several people complained that their PC apps no longer worked. Community help is no longer on the web site, and what is described as available on a phone sounds like feel- good messaging and discussions of exercise, as available from the dashboard.  I went online to customer service to discuss matters

  Unfortunately, the Do-Smarter does not have a continuous pulse read- out like the Fitbit, but it vibrates and displays an alert when things are not “Normal.” Someone with a pulse- rate problem might not find that adequate, but Do-Smarter has other trackers that might do better. I don’t have such a problem, so this one is OK for me.  I walk

 But I have a fidgety hand that can travel very far in any case.  There is no "Help" available on the Do-Smarter website, and no community, but I have been in touch with do-Smarter Customer Service by email (Address highlighted on web site). I made suggestions and asked a question. They replied promptly, thanked me, answered the question and told me that a tracker that does not need a phone is in development

Best sleep tracking Fitbit?

 Workout target zone does not work now (I must have turned off something that records this info). I can't seem to answer my texts thru the watch at all. To activate the screen is a practice of futility. Some times 2 or 3 taps will turn on the screen and sometimes I have to tap the screen 50 to 100 times, and sometimes the only way to activate the screen is with the button (I do have a cover on mine but still)

 I played with it more that night and got some of the features to work but I still could not get my texts. My daughter took over and figured out what I was doing wrong (had the do not disturb turned on at the watch- but not in the app) which brings me to my next huge issue. Some of the features can only be accessed from the watch, some only from the app, and some from either. SO frustrating

 My wife talked me into upgrading to an actual fitbit. After reading reviews and product descriptions and pouring over videos I had narrowed it down to the charge 4, the charge 3, and a Samsung offering. Well the price tag on the Samsung put it out, and the charge 3 is selling for as much as a 4. After a very frustrating wait on a prime shipment (7 days when it should have been 2) the watch arrived

 First and foremost there are NO directions so forget about learning any of the features by reading (whatever). The app is somewhat complicated and very difficult to figure out. After several hours of frustrating and useless attempts I finally have up and packed it all up to be sent back (mind you my battery went from 72% to 14%). The next day I wore the watch to spite myself and it did record my steps accurately

  Next, the strap keeps popping off. Even when replaced with the original extra bands supplied. It has started to pop off more often in the recent past, even after cleaning and replacement of the straps. The other FitBit we have was so poorly made, it popped off with the bit of the charger where the strap clips on stuck in the strap

I wear my FitBit everyday, but am careful not to get it wet. I like the features available and the interface, but the Fitbit itself is not durable and is very poorly designed. Setting it up to charge seems to need a careful dance to ensure alignment of points or else it won't charge and it takes 2-3 attempts to make it happen. We have 2 Fitbits bought at different times and its the same issue with both, I hope that the powers that be will redesign the charger coz this one sucks big time

Good fitbit, but not durable.

I bought a fitbit Charge 4 about a month ago. The fucking thing doesn't have an always on screen when I'm exercising. It's enormously fucking frustrating to have to tap the button/repeatedly flick my wrist just to be able to see a timer. There isn't even an option for 'always on screen'
