 Moving on to the inside of the case, we see an elegant yet simplistic setup comprised of three main zones. The power supply's little area, the motherboard's split off, and the graphics card's whole section all have their own kind of areas, like I said. If you go for the option that includes a power supply, you'll be equipped with a 450 watt Integra, which should be able to handle basically everything modern that you would throw inside this case. The power supply area also somewhat supports a little bit of cable management room just in front so you can stuff some of your extra cables away and leave some breathing room for the air coolers on your CPU and GPU

Not sure exactly when this happened, but a longtime pain point of Fractal's site has finally been addressed: all cases (and case families) can now be filtered by size class and sorted by volume.

This means you can finally determine the relative size of a case without having drill into the product page for dimensions.

 The Node 202 easily fits inside of a suitcase with room to spare for peripherals, or even a large backpack. Since this was a secondary computer built to be portable for <$500, I used relatively moderate/old hardware (450W Silverstone SFX PSU, Ryzen 5 1600, GTX760). Everything fit perfectly, though cable management was a bit challenging (to be expected in such a small case), and overall I was very happy with the layout and quality of the case.  The Node 202 had everything going for it until I booted it up and started doing some stress testing

 I tried adding one and two 120mm fans in the GPU compartment in various configurations (single intake, single exhaust, dual intake, etc.), and though they helped, the GPU was still throttling back to ~85% at 82C+. Just to double-check that the GPU wasn't the issue, I ran it in a different computer/case and there it was running 100% at 80C.  Perhaps a blower-style GPU would fair better in this case, but a new GPU would have exceeded my budget for the build, so to my disappointment I ended up sending this case back

High quality design but GPU runs very hot

 But I'm at Watch Timmy Joe on Instagram and Twitter. I would say that this build in this little node case, although the speed build was kind of, you know, a little bit of a cheating, it's not too hard to build in. You get the right parts and, you know, Ryzen 5 1500X with the Wraith Stealth cooler never went above like 60 degrees load in video games. There's a nice big vent above the fan there

Fractal Design Node 202 Review Home Theater PC Build

  The design itself is actually fairly decent in of itself at packing a lot of computing power into a very small space while also allowing it to cool. It does look pretty nice too.  Design wise the only issue I have with it is that its kind've top heavy so it wants to tip over on you with the included detachable stand. They should've made the stand a wider profile and out of metal so it could be slim against a flat surface without taking up desk space to give it more stability

  For $100 this case should've been much more sturdily made I'd think. Less puzzle box-ish to take apart too.  Gave me flashbacks to taking apart those old Packard Bell towers from the 90's at times!!  Still, as much as I'm knocking this case, from looking at everything else that could fit my needs while also being as small this does seem better than the rest. So I'll stick with it but I'm far from thrilled or even all that happy

Hi sffpc, I'm new here and trying to build a very capable and tiny music production desktop. I'm looking for some feedback on cases and PSUs as I have not been able to find many resources for this build. With music production being the focus- cpu, ram, and storage are the focus here. I am open to feedback on these selections but, given the fact that I do not game, I don't think it's worth it for me to jump into the GPU market now, hence the 5700G selection. I would like to keep the option of adding a GPU in a year or two but It feels like this Node 202 case does not have the best airflow for doing so. I like the Velka 7 case as a good alternative to the Node in this regard but given the price difference between the two ($120ish), superior cooling might stand to bridge this gap. Any thoughts on this?

With regard to PSU, obviously I will need to switch it if I do get a GPU, but for now nobody seems to be doing low wattage iGPU builds (150w) and so I'm uncertain about good PSU options with regard to both quality and size. Any suggestions?

Portable iGPU Music Production Build

  Thus, make sure that your PSU has the same power connector as indicated by the images in this page. The "diagonal" things of your PSU's power connector needs to be pointing upwards. My PSU had a connector where these "diagonal" things points downwards. See the pictures to have a better idea

 There is a space at the back for access and removal of motherboard backplate, but if you use the one included with that motherboard, you cant change it. So easy to install the first time, but if you ever have to change coolers, look forward to taking the motherboard out.  Also, one of the screw holes on the motherboard standoffs stripped out. Cant change the fan without taking board out

 The ability to take the side panels off completely is what makes it so easy.  Now, this may just be the motherboard I bought (ASROCK B450 Fatality gaming itx): you cant take the backplate off when the motherboard is in the case.
