The Gigabyte G27Q is the best budget 1440p 144Hz monitor that we've tested. It's feature-rich, and even though it provides a great gaming performance, it's versatile enough for other uses. AMD certifies it to have native FreeSync support, and G-SYNC also works with NVIDIA graphics cards.

It performs best when gaming at its max refresh rate because it has an extremely quick response time, and the response time is still decent at 60Hz, but more motion blur trail is visible behind fast-moving objects. The picture quality is good, thanks to the excellent gray uniformity, great peak brightness, wide color gamut, and good out-of-the-box accuracy. Its IPS panel also has wide viewing angles if you want to use it for co-op gaming.

Unfortunately, it has somewhat limited ergonomics since it doesn't offer swivel adjustments, though you can still tilt it and adjust the height. It has an optional backlight strobing feature to try to reduce persistence blur. However, it only works within a narrow range, and you can't use it at the same time as VRR. Also, like any IPS panel monitor, it has a low contrast ratio and doesn't have a local dimming feature. If you're not going to use it for dark room gaming, it's the best 1440p 144Hz monitor in the budget category.

The best monitor for coding in the budget category that we've tested is the Gigabyte G27Q. Overall, it's a good office monitor with wide viewing angles, a great 1440p resolution, and a 27 inch size that delivers good text clarity. Visibility in a bright room isn't an issue, as it has great peak brightness and good reflection handling, so it can easily overcome glare. Like all monitors on this list, the backlight is completely flicker-free at all brightness settings, which is great.

It has great connectivity, with a built-in USB hub, but it doesn't offer any USB-C ports, so you'll need an adapter if you're working from a laptop that doesn't offer any full-sized HDMI or DisplayPort connections. It has excellent gray uniformity and good accuracy out of the box, as well as an outstanding color gamut, great if your work often includes design elements that rely on accurate, uniform colors.

Unfortunately, it has low contrast, so it's not a good choice for a dark room or if you prefer to use dark mode on your computer. It also has poor ergonomics, so it might be hard to place in an ideal viewing position. Overall, despite the budget price, it's a very good monitor, and it's a great choice for coding.

I measured in this with overdrive, set to the medium setting was seven milliseconds and the white to black response. Time was 17, not one, and i know that the one is the mprc moving picture response time, but it's really it's really annoying to see these big, bold claims and then to be very let down by the end result

I've been looking around for a monitor that is capable of all the above for under £500.

I recently purchased an RTX 3070 as it's the sweetspot for 2560x1440 gaming.

I'm looking to replace my BenQ 27" 1920x1080 60Hz monitor for something that's better and will give an overall better gaming experience.

So far I've found the LG 27GL850-B which is in my budget and has everything I'm looking for, but I'm always put off by the negative reviews so was wondering if there's anything else that is worth looking at.

Best 27" G-SYNC Compatible 1440p 144Hz IPS 1ms Monitor Under £500?

Great monitor (visual) , terrible sound, mediocre software, horrible tech support.

 We reviewed on the channel earlier, but it is more expensive than today's 32-inch va offerings, which makes sense given ips is a more premium technology. The design gigabyte have opted for is, unsurprisingly, pretty similar to the m27q just scaled up to accommodate the larger 32-inch panel. This means gigabyte are continuing to use their rather large stand base, which does occupy quite a bit of space on your desk, but the benefit here is: it provides a stable platform with little wobble height. Adjustability is included here along with swivel and tilt support, so the ergonomic capabilities are decent

I also think it looks pretty good from the front reasonably slim bezels and overall, the build quality is good. Although the majority of the outer materials are just basic black plastic on the rear, you'll find the monitor's directional, toggle and kvm button for controlling the osd features. Major Display Port Issue

 Here in australia, i'd say it's 500 aussie price tag is better than average. Having tested the g32 qc, we will be getting a good look at how two monitors within the same family, just with different display sizes can differ in performance. We rarely get this sort of opportunity, so i think there will be some interesting lessons. Come the conclusion of this video and just quickly on the refresh rate features we do get hertz here maximum, which is a small upgrade on 144hz

 The flaws with response time performance in particular sees this display fall behind the pack and for gamers, especially those wanting to harness the full 165hz refresh rate on offer. This is a significant drawback. The simple reality is aoc are offering a very similar overall package with their cq27 g2, with slightly better overall performance and a lower price tag of around 260 us dollars. Yes, it's just a 144hz panel versus 165hz with the g27 qc, but the real world difference is pretty negligible

My first idea was to return to TN pannel because I had no problems with them in the past, but looks like they only have 1440p IPS pannels in stock.

So I have 3 options:

Alternative to LG 27GL83A-B (Nano IPS eye strain)

A good monitor with a very annoying bug.

 The last time we took a standalone look at the 1440p market was in july of 2021 and it's fair to say a few. Things have changed since then in terms of monitor releases and pricing. So this video will serve as an update with fresh information recommendations for the early parts of 2022. As with our previous best of videos, we tend to talk about and recommend, monitors, we've personally tested and know to be good or monitors that are very similar to products

 I just don't think va or tn options in this tier are worth considering, given how good the ips monitors of today are at delivering a balanced experience of the 1440p medium refresh monitors, we've tested using our latest methodology, all 25 of them, the mag274 qrf-qd has among The best response, behavior we've seen across the entire refresh rate range average performance, is fast around 6 milliseconds, but crucially, overshoot is kept to a minimum as well. This gives us enough speed to manage the 165hz refresh rate without introducing artifacts when gaming at lower refresh rates. Like at 60 hertz, one thing we always look for is this sort of single overdrive mode experience? It means you can choose one overdrive, setting and use it for all gaming conditions. So the difference in performance between each model are going to be small
