The GIGABYTE M32UC Gaming Monitor packs upscale performance into a streamlined package. The M32UC provides a fluid and vibrant gaming experience in 4K resolution with 1ms response time, 144Hz (160Hz OC) refresh rate, and compatibility with graphics card software.

If you want something a bit cheaper in the upper mid-range price category, consider the Gigabyte M32UC. As you can tell by the name, it's very similar to the Gigabyte M32U, with the main difference being their panel types. While the M32U has wide viewing angles thanks to its IPS panel, the M32UC has a higher contrast ratio thanks to its VA panel. It means it's a better choice for dark room gaming as blacks appear deeper, but it doesn't have a local dimming feature to further improve the contrast. There are a few drawbacks to this panel type, though, as it has worse motion handling than the M32U because there's black smearing.

Other than that, it's very similar to the M32U because it has low input lag, FreeSync VRR support, G-SYNC compatibility, and HDMI 2.1 bandwidth if you want to use it for console gaming. It has the same extra gaming features and has a USB hub that makes it easy to connect to other devices or charge them. While it looks good in dark rooms, it's also a great choice if you want to use it in bright rooms, as it has good reflection handling and excellent SDR peak brightness.

If you want something cheaper or don't want to spend a ton of money on an ultrawide display, check out the Gigabyte M32UC. It's very different from the LG 34GP950G-B because it has a 16:9 aspect ratio with a 4k resolution. It means that instead of getting an ultrawide curved screen with more horizontal screen space, you get a higher-resolution screen with remarkable text clarity. It's ideal if you like playing games with crisp detail or also need something for productivity. It has a big screen, and the 32-inch display is enough to open multiple windows at once.

This monitor has a ton of features for office and gaming. It features a USB hub with a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, letting you display an image from a compatible device and charge it at the same time, but unlike the LG 40WP95C-W, it only supports 15 W of power delivery. If you're a gamer, it also has HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and a 144Hz refresh rate, meaning you can play high-frame-rate games from your PC or console without issue. Although it has some issues with its motion handling, it at least has low input lag for a responsive gaming experience.

If you want something in the mid-range price category or find the LG 34GP950G-B too big, check out a 16:9 curved monitor like the Gigabyte M32UC. With a 4k resolution, it delivers sharper images than the LG, and these types of monitors are also beneficial if you want to use them with the PS5 or Xbox Series X. With HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on both of its HDMI ports, you can take full advantage of the consoles as you can play 4k games up to 120 fps from either of them. Even if you want to use it for PC gaming, you can reach its 160Hz max refresh rate with a DisplayPort connection.

It has low input lag, and motion looks smooth as it has a quick response time at 120Hz, but it's slower at 60Hz, leading to some motion blur with fast-moving content. Its overall picture quality isn't special, but it still delivers deep blacks in dark rooms and has decent HDR peak brightness if your games are in HDR and you want some highlights to pop. It also gets bright in SDR, easily enough to fight glare, and it has good reflection handling if you want to use it in a well-lit room.

If you want to save money or think the Gigabyte AORUS FO48U OLED and the Gigabyte AORUS FV43U are too big, look into a mid-range monitor like the Gigabyte M32UC. As you go down in price, you don't get the same great HDR experience, but as monitors aren't as good as TVs for HDR, this is what you have to expect. The M32UC is still okay for HDR as it has a VA panel with a high native contrast ratio, meaning it displays deep blacks in dark rooms, but it doesn't have a local dimming feature to improve it. The black uniformity is still decent, and there isn't too much blooming around bright objects. It also displays a wide color gamut for HDR content and has decent HDR peak brightness, enough to make some highlights pop.

Like the higher-end Gigabyte monitors, it's a great choice for console gaming in HDR because it has HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and can take full advantage of both the Xbox Series X and PS5. You can play HDR games up to 120 fps, and it has low input lag for a responsive feel. It also has a quick response time for smooth motion, but there's black smearing behind fast-moving objects.

Gigabyte M32UC Curved 4K 144Hz Monitor Review

Hi, let me describe my use case and my present setup.

**Setup**:

Monitor1: Philips 288E2A, 28" 4K 60hz, scaled at 125%

Monitor2: Shitty HP 27" QHD (1440p) 60hz, scaled at 100%, grabbed for 180eur.

**Problem**: Insufficient real estate, insufficient smoothness of motion dring scrolling (i.e. refresh rate).

**Use case**: I spend 80% of my time in front of my monitors by coding, reading (tiny) text, webpages, and PDFs. These are all things that require a lot of scrolling. I do occasional photo editing so I don't scorn color accuracy. Also, I cannot stand 110ppi monitors, at least as primary screen (I start to get comfortable at \~140/150ppi.  
Before you tell me that for non-gaming usage the refresh rate is not important, I have had occasion to use a 27" 165hz, and it was another world in terms of scrolling smoothness and long-term eye strain.

So, I'm trying to decide what direction I should take with a budged arond 1000eur.

**Option 1**: A large 32" 4K 144hz screen, with my current 28" as secondary. In this case my choice would be the MSI mpg321ur-qd unless you advise me against it.  
**Concern**: I would buy this thing in order to view MORE things (scaling at 100%), not to place it farther away with 125%. Would it be too massive for a 35cm/40cm viewing distance (I use my 28" that way). Maybe I can afford placing it 5cm farther, but not more.. The absence of curvature, given the short viewing distance, doesn't help, but there are no 144hz 4K curved monitors.

**Option 2**: Buy another 28" (but 144hz.. M28U?) and place my current 60hz 28" as secondary. That would be more bearable at short distance, but also it won't get me the real estate I seek.  
**Concern**: Not much gain in real estate and a price that almost matches the 32-inchers.

Ultrawides are not an option for either lack of sufficient ppi, or refresh rate.

Please suggest the BEST setup for my use case...!

Originally wouldn't recommend, but go through Amazon and make sure to test everything

 This allows you to connect one keyboard and mouse setup to two different devices through one monitor. Just make sure one of your devices supports DisplayPort Alt Mode through USB-C, then you'll be able to switch both the video source and upstream between two devices. Now let's take a look at the tests. We'll start with the contrast

 A high contrast ratio is important if you use a monitor in the dark for deep dark scenes. Like most monitors, this one has an IPS-type panel. This has some trade-offs which we'll talk about in the review, but the major downside is a mediocre contrast ratio, and the M32U is no exception. Local dimming is a feature that controls the brightness of individual zones of the backlight

 The stand supports the monitor well, but is pretty large due to the monitor's size, so it takes up quite a bit of desk space. There's a gap in the back of the stand for more basic cable management, which is nice. It does offer decent ergonomics, but if you don't want to use the stand, the M32U has a quick release at the back which covers the standard VESA 100x100 wall mount. There's a pretty wide range of inputs with two HDMI ports, a display port, and a USB-C port

 It allows the image to be drawn on the screen faster, which makes it more responsive, and if the monitor supports variable refresh rates, then you can get a smooth experience without tearing regardless of the changing frame rate. The M32U doesn't disappoint. The 144Hz refresh rate is among the fastest for 4K displays, and both FreeSync and G-Sync support means compatibility with new AMD or Nvidia graphics cards. VRR will be extra useful on a 4K display like this one, since driving most games in 4K is very demanding on your GPU

I've had a monitor with an IPS panel for about five years, my PC is used for multiple things. However the black levels aren't as good as I'd like and the backlight bleed in the corners has always annoyed me when playing a game or watching a movie or TV show with the lights dimmed. The blacks are just too grey.

Is OLED the best option? Not sure if I can afford one though and the burn-in possibilities are disconcerting. What's the 'next best' option?

Pretty much the title. I play games like God of War, Spiderman, Horizon ZD, FFVII-Remake, etc. I'm playing on a RX 6700XT right now with a Ryzen 7 5800X &amp; 32 GB of ram. I'll probably plug my PS5 up at some point, though I typically play that on the living room TV.

I had looked at the GIGABYTE M32U, the M32UC, and the Dell S3222DGM, but I'm open to other options. I'm trying to stay sub $500 if I can. Curved also seems nice, but I typically kick back about 3-4 feet from the monitor.
