M34WQ. Inexpensive lineup compared to the competition but damn solid and priced very friendly. Gigabyte also seems to be getting their calibration tight across all the units, even the inexpensive options. Acer and Asus may be heavy hitters but they need to take note of this kind of consistency and pricing as it's making their options seem kind of weak and overpriced.

Are VA panels bad?

IPS monitor might have less ghosting / black smearing (as per some reviews but myself I cannot tell the difference) but colors feel washed out and it has that backlit glow. Gigabyte has new IPS monitor M34WQ which might be in your price range but I would most likely go with Asus due to the price and deep blacks.

Gigabyte M34WQ 144hz IPS Ultrawide

Ican use PiP/PbP and switch mouse/kb with one button and the notebook (connected with only the usb-c cable) stays closed on the desk. Works like a charm. I have to read/edit technical texts usually and can open three pages/documents next to each other - perfect for me.
