Old school shaving

My dad uses a Gillette Skin Guard and foam when he finds the weather too humid for an electric. My dad last had a DE razor in the 70's when he had a Gillette Black Beauty. Most people switched to the Gillette Trac II when it was introduced in 1972. The men in my family shaved daily, they were looking for ways to speed up the process.

What are some things that you use in your onebag set up, but have become part of your daily life?

My travel shave kit is cheap single blade (Gillette Guard) imported from India and a 15ml (0.5oz) bottle of shave oil. Shave oil doesn't work well with multi-blade cartridges because it clogs up in-between the blades. The single blade cartridges run around $0.20 each and last me about 5 shaves. The 15ml bottle is enough oil for a month.

For those that use cartridges, 3 blade or 5 blade?

Less blades is always better. I'd recommend a one blade razor like the Gillette Guard, but they're not available everywhere.

You can easily get a single blade tilting cart like the Gillette Guard for dirt cheap and a 100 pack of carts for ~25 bucks. It’s more or less as braindead in use as the OneBlades and considerably more cost effective on top of being fine for travel. And if people are actually that committed to “reducing waste” as I’ve seen some people claim, there’s nothing stopping them from picking up straights.
