The Giro Manifest Spherical is our top choice for a mountain bike helmet. This helmet is pretty unique and has everything we've come to expect from a high-end, half-shell helmet. It has a sleek, well-executed design. It uses the MIPS Spherical rotational impact system, which is made up of two separate EPS foam shells connected with elastomers. These foam shells have different densities and are designed to rotate against each other in case of angular impact, much like a ball and socket joint. The interior foam shell extends lower on the back and sides of the head, allowing the helmet to comfortably fit a wide variety of head shapes. Large air vents and interior channels give some of the best ventilation we've seen in a mountain bike helmet, and the interior padding does a great job of absorbing sweat.
We had a hard time finding anything to complain about with the Manifest. We found no issues with performance during testing. It does have a failry high price tag and only an average weight. But, we think the dual-shell design's protection is worth the weight. Even though it's a few grams heavier than some helmets, on the trail the difference isn't noticeable with the secure fit. We're also not very concerned about some added weight for a trail helmet that does it all. The price tag might seem high at first glance, but it's comparable to other high-end mountain bike helmets. And we think this helmet outperforms all the other high-end mountain bike helmets, so the price is justified.

 What's up everybody welcome back to the unemployed cyclist as you can see I'm still in the middle of a disaster zone from our remodel The good news is that we are at the very tail end of it. We're gonna do a final inspection this week with our general contractor and Then we write him a check and we are done. It has been a major pain in the butt it but we chose a great GC and and everything turned out really well, so I'm currently waiting for a appointment at a Urgent care to get my hip checked out after that crash I had back at the end of July and while I wait for the go-ahead to come in for You know to get checked out and possibly get referred to an x-ray or for an MRI because my hip is still bothering me. I I figured I'd take a break from cleaning and moving stuff out of my workout room slash office to do a couple of Product reviews and an update on a helmet So we're gonna start with a one-year review of my Giro manifest mountain bike helmet If you remember I got this helmet I bought it last year after I crashed out in the Las Virginas open space I hit like a ground squirrel nest that collapsed under my front wheel and I got thrown and the whole front end of my My road helmet got shattered

 If you need replacement parts, please contact us here That would make life a lot easier and that is the only complaint that I've had so far that you're a manifest So one year in 100% I would recommend buying this it is a great helmet it breathes super well if you have problems overheating Yes, it's a tall order to purchase something like this. Shop Review - Giro Manifest Spherical MIPS Helmet

Pulls hair. Hurts where the pads do not protect head from helmet. Looks bada**. PitVipers don’t go in designated sunglasses holder on top

 With the Rock Lock Trail Air Fit System, this thing is super easy to tighten on the back of your head to make sure you got that secure fit. And then also with this magnetic lock system for the strap, this thing is awesome and I feel super bomber when it's on, it does not feel like it's going to come off. So after spending a few days in this helmet, I absolutely love it. It's got great ventilation and for myself, I sweat like a pig

 I would definitely recommend this for any beginner rider to advanced rider that is just looking for something ultra light weight. I definitely give this helmet a good thumbs up and I would definitely purchase this again if I ever had to get a second helmet. Giro Manifest Spherical Helmet: Tested and Reviewed!

 Except for the Montaro I recently tried that was painful inside. This Manifest is pricey but very comfy, light, and has some nice features. It feels really nice on your head like a padded glove where others, for my dome at least, whereas others I've tried have pressure points and just uncomfortable. I have no complaints with the fit and feel of this nor the quality

 For those of you who aren't familiar with MIPS, it's a brain protection system which helps reduce harmful forces transmitted to your brain if you crash. But it's a different MIPS system in this helmet that I'm used to. The MIPS equipped helmets I've used have a low friction, usually distinctive yellow liner like this one. This manifest spherical helmet uses a more advanced ball and socket MIPS design whereby this outer liner can rotate around the inner liner in the event of a crash

 So you don't have that hard plastic liner against your skin. This is interesting because it's never been an issue for me so I'm interested to see how this feels during a ride. Spherical technology allows the helmet to be constructed with different density foam too, which Giro say can deal with low and high speed impacts more efficiently. There's an impact resistant band too that covers the width of the helmet adding to its overall structural integrity

Any air movement, even at low hill climbing speeds, produces a welcome cooling effect.  The coverage feels like it will add significant protection in the event that I need to “use” it

 I hope that Giro makes its a version of its Roc Loc LED light that will fit this helmet.

The padding seems to do a decent job absorbing perspiration on those hot rides, and no sweat stink has been apparent. No comfort issues with the easy (and padded) Roc-Loc adjustment and its very fine increments, unlike some other brands I tried

Amazing Ventilation, Comfort and Features

 For better impact force management the exterior foam is a higher density EPS foam while the inner is a lower density EPS. Jira added this rigid arch to increase the strength of this helmet and allow for wider vents. Jira claims that this helmet has the same cooling efficiency as their top-of-the-line road helmet. Another feature is the rock lock trail air ratchet system

 The manifest comes in seven different colors and retails for $260. We've gotten out on a few rides with the manifest and it's really impressive. It's a very premium product and feels and performs great. Ventilation and airflow does feel superior to other mountain bike helmets
