* **Gloomhaven** - I don't tend to like dungeon crawlers and Gloomhaven feels like one. I don't enjoy the deck getting shorter mechanic. It's number 1 for a reason, just not a game for me.
Gloomhaven test - A more than solid adaptation @VGR - VideoGamesRepublic.com
Just know that Gloomhaven takes a long time to tame. The gameplay is ultra complete, precise, and offers enormous strategic possibilities that only experience, patience and your own thinking will be able to make you benefit from. The thing, is that the game is not really accessible and will still require a lot of investment to see the end of it, especially when you know that the campaign has no less than 95 missions, that the Guild Master mode generates more than a hundred and that it is also possible to play in cooperation with friends

Gloomhaven: Does it live up to the hype? (Review by RJ Garrison)
Brandon: I was one of the original backers of Gloomhaven when it launched the first time on Kickstarter, I got it, I sorted it, bought a good organizer, which it absolutely needs, and still ended up trading it away after 3 plays due to that dense rulebook that managed to make the game even more of a fiddly, convoluted mess than it already was.

Gloomhaven Review: Is This Big Board Game Really the Best?
Our preference goes to an iOS app called Gloomhaven Scenario Viewer but there are valid alternatives available online, like Gloom.

We used to run a 2+ year D&D campaign together until our group fizzled out due to work/family/splitting ways with friends after college. Gloomhaven seems like a great way to satisfy that dungeon crawling experience. Needless to say, the fiancée isn’t thrilled that I’ve added another hobby to my already expensive list (PC building, football cards, home audio and motorcycles).
Gloomhaven’s digital adaptation is a marvelous turn-based dungeon crawler
Image: Asmodee Digital. Gloomhaven digital is impressive for how it facilitates solo play, however, it’s also capable of providing a satisfying experience for a group of friends. It’s an enticing counter to the physical version, as it’s much easier to schedule an hour for everyone to hop on the PC, particularly with COVID still causing concern

I actually own the board game. How does it stack up? It's pretty much as faithful as a digital version of a physical game can be. They really didn't cut any corners here. If you're into complex games, Gloomhaven is a great one.
That said, I'd warn you away if you aren't into complex rules and repea...

We're about halfway in the Gloomhaven campaign now and it's still good. We have 3 of us regular players and evey once and while we get a guest that hops is for an adventure or two. It's important that there is a floor of minimum level the guest can be at depending on your prosperity (I think?). It can help for people jumping in and out.
