  I switched my service over Thursday night but needed a new, smaller SIM card which ATT gave me as I continued service with them.  Friday, I was on the phone off and on throughout the day, mostly setting it up, adding my work email and calendar, etc. I also took a walk around my campus with it, testing out the camera on about a dozen photos. By the time I got home from work, the battery was down to 17 percent

 The battery, which was charged the night before, was down to 37 percent before noon. I'm now very concerned about using this during an upcoming trip, or relying on it for work or travel. I really like the phone, but this can't continue. I may need to return it

 I also took a walk around my campus with it, testing out the camera on about a dozen photos. By the time I got home from work, the battery was down to 17 percent. 17! I had read that this didn't have a great battery, but that it would get me through the day. 5pm won't cut it

 Is anyone else having battery problems like this.  On the plus side, the included charger recharges the phone pretty quickly. But I'm not going to have the time, or outlets, to keep charging it while playing tourist.

Are you rooted?? I've experienced problems like that on a rooted pixel 1 and rooted Nexus 5 but before messing with the software they both were extremely smooth I have pixel 5a now and so far I crashed to home only when trying to open a app that was updating at the sametime

I think it isn't like people overrate Stock but rather that many other Skins really suck, for example even as cheaper as Xiaomi phones are when compared to pixels, MIUI is imho horrendous and I'd pay twice for the responsiveness and the cleaner stock software on pixels

People here say how amazing stock android is while using phones that don’t run stock android, so that tells you all you need to know.

I was an iOS user for years and switched to Pixel 4a last August. I have not had any stability issues or other oddities (after 10 months of use). I also had a 4a 5G for a couple weeks and it was also totally stable.

I've since switched to a One Plus 8 and have the same very stable experience after 2+ months of daily use.

Is it possible that some of your customizations may be causing stability issues? Other thought is there is maybe a hardware issue...

Never has reboot issue with android on my Note 9 running one ui. This phone can run for months without even has to reboot.

This is of course down to personal preference, and since owning the OG Pixel I have owned each new iPhone on a yearly upgrade cycle. I sold my iPhone 12 pro max and purchased a Pixel 4a, and can honestly say I prefer stock Android over iOS, and yes the Pixel 4a isn't a flagship, but I don't regret my decision of purchasing a Pixel device l.. I love this phone and the freedom that comes with Android.

Stock android overrated?

 Battery life is great. I have had some data disconnection problems but not sure if it's a Sprint problem or otherwise but only happened a few times. I'll monitor to see if it is a real issue. I did end up buying a second 3a XL for spouse and she loves it too, still waiting for my google credit though

 Most importantly, the camera is awesome. Photos are not blurry so far and super clear. I haven't even used any of the special portrait and night options. I'm telling you if a camera can take low light photos that is golden and why I jumped at it

I got the Pixel 3 when Amazon had it for $349. I have had no issues and still really like it. I upgraded from the Pixel 2 and I think it was very worth it. 

This is the lowest price I have seen since. Mine was new and Clearly White. I would probably go for the black for $368 if I had to decide now.

I type this on my Pixel 3. Don't get this phone. The battery life is a legitimate joke. It's way more crashy and buggy than any other phone I've ever had. Takes good pictures but that's about it.

With the 3a gone Amazon just dropped the Pixel 3 (not pink) to $333 get it while you can

Compared to Pixel 3

 Since it's Google, you'll have the newest Android OS's at launch and support for longer than other manufacturers. That was one thing I missed dearly about my old Nexus, and I'm glad Google is finally back in the sub-$500 market again so I can take advantage of it. I think my favorite feature about the UI is that I can turn on "dark mode" 24/7 so that I never have white bars or menus anywhere, just nice black ones. It's really saved my eyes

 I also like that the volume and brightness on the phone has a very wide range of levels, much moreso than any other phone I've had before, which always had "silent," "soft-ish" and "extremely loud" with little in between. I can turn down the volume to almost-silent and the brightness to actually quite dark without installing third party apps. Also, there's no bloatware on the phone when you purchase it. That's really nice

 It doesn't have 5G, but the amount of features you get for less than $400 more than justifies the price.  CAMERA: Google has really outdone itself with the Pixel 3a's. The camera is fantastic; I no longer need to bring a dedicated digital camera when I'm traveling or attending major celebrations like graduations that need a good camera. It's performance in low-light conditions is fantastic and really something to write home about

 Sure, my brother's iPhone 11 Pro has a better camera, but he paid over $1000 for it, so that's not a fair comparison. I'd say that the Pixel 3A's camera and camera software is every bit as good as my wife's Galaxy 10, if not better.  BATTERY LIFE: A full charge doesn't last the 2-3 days that my old Moto Z Play did, but the rapid charging feature makes it not matter as much. In my daily commute of 20-30 minutes to work, I can add about 30-40% to my battery, which means I never have to worry about my phone going dead, even if I forget to charge it at night

Best features in an Android for under $400

Similar experience with the fingerprint scanner and just recently I have to send my device in for warranty because the USB-C port is "loose" causing charging problems.

I still have my Pixel 1 5" and other than a battery replacement it still works flawlessly with all its stock parts.

My pixel 3a xl is far from perfect like all of google products but there something about there products that got me hooked.  To be honest I had other product that are better but I always end up with a google product again especially phones and originally a nexus tablet lol

Having learned from Google's software in regards to just messaging apps, you can see how it carries over to their hardware. I am so frustrated with the Pixel Buds 2. $180 for no noise canceling, discharging issues, a hissing sound, etc. I feel like whatever comes next phonewise won't be a great leap forward. It'll be a compromise they didn't have to make. They had all the pieces to step into the next stage and yet they fumbled it. I would love if the Pixel 6 is back to a flagship I would get it.

I will be the first to stay that I love Pixel products and Google services (for the most part), I have a Pixel 5, Pixel Buds, a Pixel Stand and I'm even thinking of getting a Wear OS watch to tie it all together. Ik some people have complained that the Pixel 5 is too small or not worth the upgrade or that the Pixel Buds are uncomfortable, but I have loved my phone and headphones. 

However, they are far, far from perfect. My phone's scanner will just fail to function at least twice a week, my headphones have daily connection or de-sync problems and my stand continues to argue that it is somehow not verified. I chose Google over Apple after 5 years of using Apple products, and while I stand by that choice I understand why people leave the Pixel. 

Google is such a powerful company and they make amazing tech but the amount of problems and issues is so extensive. What I used to and still love about iPhones or Apple on general is that ignoring all the consumer issues or outdated/uninteresting design, all their stuff just works. When you get an iPhone, the face unlock, the assistant, the software and apps in general, it all just works. Airpods don't disconnect often or ever, and while I agree a lot of their laptops are way overpriced, they always just work. 

I'm not saying that Google should be on par with Apple or even other companies like Samsung, but it would be so much nicer if they took the time to optimize their products or get rid of the issues that plague almost everyone. Maybe I'm not understanding something about the company but it's shocking that every product Google releases has something wrong with it, every single time.

<div class="md"><p>I will be the first to stay that I love Pixel products and Google services (for the most part), I have a Pixel 5, Pixel Buds, a Pixel Stand and I&#39;m even thinking of getting a Wear OS watch to tie it all together. Ik some people have complained that the Pixel 5 is too small or not worth the upgrade or that the Pixel Buds are uncomfortable, but I have loved my phone and headphones. </p>

<p>However, they are far, far from perfect. My phone&#39;s scanner will just fail to function at least twice a week, my headphones have daily connection or de-sync problems and my stand continues to argue that it is somehow not verified. I chose Google over Apple after 5 years of using Apple products, and while I stand by that choice I understand why people leave the Pixel. </p>

<p>Google is such a powerful company and they make amazing tech but the amount of problems and issues is so extensive. What I used to and still love about iPhones or Apple on general is that ignoring all the consumer issues or outdated/uninteresting design, all their stuff just works. When you get an iPhone, the face unlock, the assistant, the software and apps in general, it all just works. Airpods don&#39;t disconnect often or ever, and while I agree a lot of their laptops are way overpriced, they always just work. </p>

<p>I&#39;m not saying that Google should be on par with Apple or even other companies like Samsung, but it would be so much nicer if they took the time to optimize their products or get rid of the issues that plague almost everyone. Maybe I&#39;m not understanding something about the company but it&#39;s shocking that every product Google releases has something wrong with it, every single time.</p>
