 The the top section of this is a much larger space than on my Osprey And so usually what I put up here are things like my wallet, my keys, and the electronics that I use on a regular basis. Any snacks and having it all up here and still having some room left is very very nice size. Comfort Goes is very comfortable. The mesh is really really breathable back here at have a nice frame

 like I mentioned, it does have the zipper that goes right here down the middle and so I can actually open up this entire front section and get to things that are in the bottom or the middle of the pack without having to take everything out of the top, which is very, very nice. There's a lot of straps. it was a little bit confusing to figure out it first. Um, but you have this whole front

 Comfort Goes is very comfortable. The mesh is really really breathable back here at have a nice frame. Um, the padding is really really nice right here. You have your standard adjustable tension straps on the shoulder pads and the hip belt fits me really really well

Camping Gear Review: Gregory Jade 38 Backpack

Hey all,

My boyfriend and I are planning a 2-4 month trip to Central and South America (Costa Rica, Chile, Peru) at the start of next year. We're located in Europe, but I'm willing to hunt down backpack suitable for me. I'm short 161cm (5'2 or so) and quite small all around and I've yet to find a bag that doesn't hurt me. In June I did a 20-day hike with a hiking backpack from Decathlon that was supposed to be for women under 170cm, however the waist belt was doing virtually nothing so it ended up bruising my shoulders and upper back and causing me tond of pain daily. So now I'm looking for a bag around 40L that will hopefully fit me nicely, doesn't look too flashy, isn't pink, and will be good for traveling with planes and buses, walking in cities and some hiking too. I'll also bring a camera with 2 lenses, so if there's a camera compartment that'll be great, if not I'll look for designated cubes.

Sorry for all the explanations, any recommendations will be highly appreciated!

Looking for a backpack for long-term traveling/hiking suitable for a small woman

I love the size, it fits everything I need for an extended day hike including layers of clothing and rain gear.

The biggest con for me, and I may just decide to return because of this is the way the zipper at the top curves around. For one, it is hard to open and close and takes two hands and focus to do. I can tell it won't last. Also the way the opening is shaped, when you open the pack all your stuff falls out

I've hiked around 60 miles with it, and find it to be quite comfortable, except for the fabric covering the shoulder straps. That rubs my neck raw if I don't put a bandanna around the strap.
