Gretsch G2220 Electromatic Junior Jet Bass II

I thought that was the shining star of this bass. However, putting some new strings on, some new strings on there, I really like that neck pickup.

But anyway let's plug this bad boy in. Okay. So let's give it a go

Finally unboxed it this morning and I am just floored by the overall quality of this thing. The neck finish is a hard, very shiny gloss. The only other bass I have with a similar finish is a Gretsch G2220 - which is still not nearly this glossy.

I'm currently rocking a Gretsch g2220 (which I recently learned does not have humbucking pickups despite being advertised, they sound fine to me, a little miffed about the false advertising, but still love this bass). - Gotoh resolite tuners (helped with neck dive). - Babicz full contact bridge (easier set up). - replaced cheap pots with CTS pots (cheap ones are scratchy).

Get the G2220 Junior Jet Bass II. I just got it two weeks ago, after i got it set up and got some new strings on it, it played real nice. The build quality is really good too, doesnt feel cheap for the price, its build very well. Its $299, with taxes its less than $350.

I’ve played one of these, and it was also a ton of fun. I love all things Gretsch, and if I didn’t already have a Gretsch Jet guitar with an almost identical body, I may have gotten this instead of the Mustang. I like to keep my wall hangers diverse looking, lol. Totally different pickup configuration here though, so if you want those SD quarter pounders, then this isn’t for you.
