 You can go with a really low price chair that you might have to replace once every one or two years or you could go with a mid-market chair that might last four or five years that you're going to be replacing twice in that life cycle.  I assure you that similar chairs can be purchased for a much lower price.  I would not buy again.

 But there is nothing different about it from other quality chairs that are much less expensive.  I worked as a consultant which requires going to different offices, so have tested many different chairs. I assure you that similar chairs can be purchased for a much lower price.  I would not buy again

Way Over-priced

Okay so this new Onyx Ultramat finish option has been released last year and is a darker version of the usual graphite colorway. Long story short, this is a black Aeron, while the usual graphite option is more of a dark grey. The materials here are a bit different as there's a higher percentage of recycled plastic, making it more sustainable than the standard colorway

 It was still a taxable benefit, so all things considered, the chair costed me a little under a thousand Canadian dollars, all in all. Still, cheaper than a used Remastered model. Other reasons I went with a new one is because I wanted the Remastered model, which is rarer on the used market. My experience with Aeron Classics was that they weren't super comfortable

 Okay so, should you get the Aeron? It is a great chair, but it is also very expensive and there are a bunch of great ergonomic options at more affordable prices out there. I would get this chair mainly for the mesh design, which is super well implemented here compared to other cheaper copycats, but also for the forward tilt feature as I just described. As for buying it new, if the chair wasn't partially paid by my employer, I would totally go with a used remastered in good condition. Even though the 12 year warranty would be void, these chairs hardly break and if they do, there are plenty of replacement parts out there given how widespread they are

Hi guys, I've been working from home for almost a year now. bought 3 office chair that doesn't really last. I love to lean on my chair but I noticed that I have a backpain all the time from working and sitting for 12 hours a day.   


Are there any chairs that can help with posture and lessen the back pain? I used to buy chairs around $150 - $250 price range and I have tried 2nd hand ones but the same issue. I am now thinking of investing a much higher price.

Needs an office chair recommendations

 Even so, for this kind of money I would expect it to hold an elephant without squeaking. Just sayin. 2. The optional head-rest should not cost $180

  I'm 6'1" 275 pounds. "Big guy". And it's super roomy and supportive. I'm at my computer for sometimes 12 hours a day writing code and in my other Serta chair which in all fairness was an executive chair (this being a 'task' chair) I was literally having to go for physical therapy after long weeks of work

Solved serious lower back issues

I bought an Embody in 2017 with the expectancy of having it last for at least 10-15 years ( they have a 12year warranty by default). Now my fabric has gotten some pretty hefty use ( I blame corona weight gain for that) and I wanted to get the fabric replaced.

1. Warranty denied, normal usage ( which is fine!)

2. You cannot buy the textile to replace it yourself anywhere.

3. The only official way of acquiring the replacement fabric is your countries Certified Dealer. Who quoted me a 800€ cost of repair on a 1200€ chair, but only if I pay for shipping ( so, 900€ total). Wouldn't have my chair for a couple months as well.

So basically I could trade my chair in and would get a new chair cheaper than simply replacing ~200grams of fabric on my own.

Herman Miller isn't BIFL!

 I do think they are over priced. I think it should be priced around $600 you are paying a lot for the name. However all the knock off version of this chair I have used are not even close quality and comfort. If you want one of the best chairs for long computer sessions this is it

 No more back pain! :) It came fully assembled just had to take it out of the box (Love that). Only taking off a star due to the high price it should cost like $600 you pay a lot for the name. Shipping was fast!  A few notes.
