HiSense Q5

So far, I am loving the Hisense Q5. I think this device is a winner.

I also have experience with the Hisense Q5 tablet. After some accommodation, you start to ignore that it has no color while you're watching a movie, but I think due to its size, you have to take more care of getting good lighting conditions. Lastly, my personal recommendation is that gamma should be increased in your graphics card settings whenever you are watching videos. This is a problem with the Hisense Q5, because if you don't plug into a computer and just use it as a tablet, you don't have the option to increase gamma, because there's no OS setting for it and I haven't found an Android video playback app yet that has that feature on its own or a general app for example like Twilight where you could change it for all apps simultaneously.

The Hisense Q5 is decent if your eyes are not glued to it for 24 hours a day. I do use it for hours and hours many days without breaks but I did get tired more when I used to use it very heavily all the time. I don't find 10" it enough for general computer use (some do that though) but for writing perhaps.

What I use the most nowadays is my Hisense Q5. The screen is not as crisp or bright as e-ink, but the refresh rate is the same as any LCD display. It is also even more durable than an e-ink reader and I now take it everywhere. Also, unlike any of the e-readers mentioned, it takes a sim card.

Not e-ink, but I like my Hisense Q5 a lot. I ordered it to Canada and I think it came in a month or two.

Boox Note Air 2 is probably 10x better in readability. Better resolution/PPI, better light diffusion, better contrast, front light feature. The Hisense Q5 is an applaudable effort to create a reflective screen, and I owned it for a couple of months, however it is simply too dark (and viewing angles to limited) to be very useable. There is a place for it, but you sound like the perfect customer for e-ink.
