Questions about other smart blinds: I think these hacked Fyrtur blinds were my best option. Lurton blinds made to my window size were quoted at $760 for just the big window you see here. I did all three for under $450 total (3 Fyrtur blinds, IKEA hub, some fabric, glue, fabric cutter, and a couple other odds and ends). Compatible with our Apple HomeKit and Alexa.

Fitting a home with Ikea’s Fyrtur or Kadrilj blinds won’t be cheap, but it’ll be far less costly than smart blinds from brands like Somfy or Luxaflex. I just hope you like grey or darker grey, because those are the only colors available at launch.

IKEA has some awesome budget automated blinds. We used them in our home and they’re great. The Fyrtur. We followed some you tube tutorials to get them custom cut for each window.

I’m looking to setup a few smart feature to my home theater. I would like to be able to give a single voice command and have: blinds closing, lights dimming, theater seats turn on, TV and appleTV turn on… etc. What I bought so far: (but nothing is installed yet). -Fyrtur Ikea smart blinds (haven’t bought their bridge yet, because I don’t know if I need it…??).

(IKEA Fyrtur.) If the sun rises later and the lights are still on, the curtains will be raised and the lights automatically turned off. The second automation turns the living room lights off when I'm watching TV. Or rather, it turns of the ceiling lights and turns on a LED strip that provides indirect lighting.

door locks. If I was going to pick one thing for the biggest impact, smart window blinds (Ikea Fyrtur) has been a huge win. Blinds go up and down automatically based off of sunrise/sunset schedules, and in the bedroom serves as a (mostly) silent alarm clock.

Hello,. I have been recently having a lot of issues with my TRADFRI Fyrtur, to the point that today one is completely unresponsive (lights are on but the motor is completely unresponsive) Often I have to delete and re-add all the device (yes, all the lights and blinds) with HomeKit and restart/re-pair everything. I honestly regret buying the IKEA smart home, as I see how the Philips Hue performs so much better... but sadly no smart blinds from Philips!.

Bought a bunch of the IKEA FYRTUR blinds for Christmas to try out, and we LOVE them! You don't have to hook them up to your home automation if you don't want to, but I did and have them set to go up and down at sunrise and sunset. We'll be ordering more for the rest of the windows soon.

I like Ikea Fyrtur blinds. They are a cheap all in one solution and operate over Zigbee.
