Intel Core i7-12700K Review - Almost as Fast as the i9-12900K
I'm happy to report that on average, there's little performance to be gained, and it just lowers energy efficiency.

Intel Core i7 12700K and Core i5 12400F review: value champs
12th-gen looks even stronger on these lower-cost CPUs.
Last November we took a look at Intel's first 12th generation desktop processors, and today we're back to finish the job. In that initial piece, we reviewed the Core i9 12900K and Core i5 12600K and came away impressed. As it turns out, a mode...

Intel Core i7-12700K Review - KitGuru
Hard on the heels of the amazing Intel Core i5-12600K and the hot, toasty and storming Core i9-12900K... We are now heading for the middle ground with the Core i7-12700K, which offers a large slice of the performance you get with Core i9 at a substantially reduced price. At any rate, that's the theo...

Intel Core i7-12700K + XPG Build Review
The Intel Core i7-12700K is a good choice for those looking for a mid-to-high tier CPU with a performance boost over the Core i5-12600K. The Core i7-12700K features the ability to overclock and with the new architectural design from the Alder Lake series, users can expect maximum performance. Combin...

Intel actually takes an even further lead at the i7 and i5 levels, with the Core i7 12700K beating the Ryzen 5800X by 16% on average, and the Core i5 12600K beating the Ryzen 5600X by a large 26%. And based on what we saw with the i9 12900K, we would expect those numbers to increase by roughly another 10% on average if you were to utilize DDR5 memory.

So then i7-12700 and the letter designation such as K. Considered a high end gaming CPU, the Intel i7-12700k runs $420. So yes it gets kinda confusing on buying parts. So what I ask up front is WHAT you're going to use it for? If you answer that you want to surf the web, email, and law end gaming, such as mine craft, you do not need a big rig.

Intel Core i7-12700K - making the i9 look silly!
So my conclusion to this review is: forget about Core I9 12 900 K, Core I7 12 700 K makes far better sense. However, kick Guru's vote still goes to the Core I5 12 600 K. So when Intel said to me when we're heading into the launch of these processors, yes, yes, we'll give you a Core I7, but don't focus on it too much
