JBL BAR 5.0 - Smart TV soundbar | Richer Sounds

 Used TV speakers for a long time which didn't bother me except when watching movies, have to toggle tv volume constantly... After doing some research, found out decent quality soundbar will fix this problem

 I did manage to fix the JBL by changing the default bass from level 3 to 2, but as noted above, making that adjustment wasn't as easy as pressing a volume button.&nbsp;Should you buy it?Most of my hesitation about recommending the Bar 5.0 MultiBeam comes down to the controls. The remote is counterintuitive in the way it makes adjustments that are necessary to get the best sound

 The display will then read "Off Smartmode." Unfortunately, the Smart mode will engage again if you turn the soundbar off, so it's a good thing it doesn't hurt the sound.      Don't expect too much help from the controls on the bar itself. Hey all - I have a Samsung q70 49-inch 2019 TV. When I'm watching shows or movies, there's always this weird issue with dialogue being too low so i have to turn the tv very loud, then when background music or effects kick in it's the opposite problem. Generally speaking the volume is unbalanced. I was wondering if a soundbar would fix this and if you'd recommend the sonos beam gen2 since it's a smaller space with a smaller tv.... appreciate any help, thanks!

Is a soundbar necessary?

 To change the level, press and hold the “TV” button on the remote for “more than three seconds”, then press the volume down button (the minus symbol). This will bring up a readout that says “LVL 3” (or whatever level you have it on at the time), and from there you can use the volume up or down button to change it.

The default “Smart Mode” is brilliant when it works, but limiting when it doesn’t. There should be other easily selectable sound profiles that you can choose. As it is, all you can is temporarily turn off the Smart Mode (it turns itself back on by default when the soundbar goes into standby), and when it is turned off, it sounds merely “okay.” You can also adjust the bass level, and there is an ATMOS button that gives an even broader soundstage—works okay for loud movies (action and sci-fi), but destroys dialogue on regular programming

As for setup, the ARC connection with my TV (Sony Bravia) works perfectly—TV recognizes the bar, turns it on, and even my Roku remote controls the volume. I had a bit of trouble with the Chromecast setup, as the Google Home app would not see the bar, but the Alexa app did see it, and once I used that to get it on my wi-fi, the Chromecast worked as well. Both Alexa and Chromecast work well, and are solid.

 I initially thought this feature was broken, as I could not get it to work, but what I finally figured out is that what you need to do is hold the mute button for EXACTLY FOUR seconds—no more, no less—then hit the volume up button. If you hit the volume up button, and the volume goes up, then you missed the timing, and have to try again. Truly annoying—none of the other adjustments are this finicky, and this seems like the adjustment you would want to make the most.

- BASS: There are 5 bass levels. The default is 3. No sound profiles!

 It literally feels that there is a dedicated subwoofer, as the room is filled with deep soft and punchy bass. It'S worth noting that the sound bar has grippy silicon feet, so the device does not start a rat link even at the highest volume setting. I love the quality of sound too, as it is crisp. Detailed and multi-beam technology creates a wide sound stage when i compared this sound bar to my sony a90j, it performed much better in all of the content

0 multibeam exceeded my expectations by a large margin. Honestly, i didn't expect this tiny soundbar to be this powerful and its ability to create surround sound effect. Is phenomenal what's also hard to believe the amount of bass it produces as it feels that you have a dedicated subwoofer, the volume output, the overall sound quality and all of the added features make it a massive upgrade over the tv's built-in speakers. I'Ve been using the bar 5

Recommendations for soundbar

 Although, if you are looking for a bar with internal subwoofer (which this really doesn’t have the sound to backup that claim) and you don’t want to spend $2k, then this is one of the limited, not so great choices that you have. I did a lot of research and was sure this would be the perfect bar for my setup, but it turned out to be a major disappointment.

I had to buy from another supplier because they were all out here. The unit looks nice and all, it has some surround sound effect, but it just doesn’t sound that great. The sound is not full spectrum and is “boxy”. It doesn’t seem worth $400, it’s more like a $100-$150 sound improvement, so not a good value

Slight improvement from TV speakers

So after reviewing the new JBL Charge 5 and being pleasantly surprised by it…, I decided to check out the new JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam, sound bar… yeah. The name is a complete mess…, but the sound bar it self is actually very solid.

 And in general, the bass on This sound bar really is its stand out characteristic., Since it has a pair of passive radiators that shoots out the top and a pair that shoots out the bottom, which then get amplified. If this sound bar is sitting on a table…, this sound bar will start rattling. The floors and walls almost like there was a dedicated subwoofer in the room

 But since this sound bar doesn’t have any actual upwards firing, transducers or any surround speakers, you’re not going to get a true dolby, atmos or true surround sound experience.. But nonetheless, the Bar 5.0 is still a very impressive piece of hardware

 This sound bar is able to shake your walls and floor and get you really immersed in your content.. Now this sound bar doesn’t have as much bass as a proper subwoofer…, but nonetheless its still very impressive, and it should be able to satiate most people, especially in this price range.
