 11-inch long feet = 12 1/2 boot. Then make sure the liner you get matches your boot size if it does not feel right. A size 12 apparently should have a 12 1/8"-long liner and a size 12 1/2 should have a 12 1/2-inch-long liner (outside measurement). I don't know if this translates well into advice on sizes that aren't in the 12 to 13 range

 Exactly 12 1/8" inches from heel to toe on the outside. But the 13 boot was 5/8" longer than the size 12 boot. I wasn't even going to bother trying the size 12 1/2 boots, figuring if 13 is too small, it would be pointless to try 12 1/2. My foot measures 11 1/2 (shoe size) so I ordered a 12. Too tight on my toes. So I ordered a 12 1/2 and a 13. When the second order came, I tried the 13 first and it was just as tight as the 12! I pulled out the liner from a 12 and a 13 and found they were identical in size

 Needless to say, I ended up returning these Kamik boots and sticking with the NortiV8.

 After trying them on there was definitely some extra wiggle room in the toe box, which tells me I could’ve went half a size down. The lacing is pretty well designed, in my opinion. As you can see in the Amazon photos, there are a set of loops that aren’t metal that the laces go through in the middle of the boot. These loops help keep the tension in the laces on the lower half of the boot when you loosen the upper half

  The thin soles were the deal breaker for me personally, though. I also bought the NortiV8 170390-M waterproof snow boots and compared to these Kamik boots, those are definitely more comfortable to walk in, in my opinion. Needless to say, I ended up returning these Kamik boots and sticking with the NortiV8.

 The boot itself came up to about the middle of my calf (I’m a 5’11” male with about average proportions) and the liner hugged my leg and foot pretty well. The fit of the boot itself was true size, in my opinion. I wear 10.5 (10 1/2) in casual shoes and opted for size 11 in these boots, just in case

The size 12 fit a bit tight in the toe box and instep, so there was no room for my orthotics and/or insulating insoles. Be sure to try them out on a cold-enough day before the return period is over!  All that said, my son-in-law loves his pair, also in a size 12. He may have skinnier feet than I do, or maybe he doesn't encounter the comfort/cold issues the way he uses his pair (for shoveling snow off the driveway and wearing in cold weather while off/on-loading his band's gear for winter shows)
