 It's a very lightweight gun, it's very slim, and that's what I like about it. Now typically shotguns are close quartered weapons. When you're using it in a home defense scenario, you're going to be indoors. In that scenario, the bullpup really shines

 Now I compared it with other shotguns including my Vanillium 4 and the KS7 held a noticeably tighter pattern with that load at various ranges from 15 to 25 yards, at 25 yards it's probably about as big as my hand which is a pretty good range for a shotgun which is what most, you know, most military spec buckshot is getting a hand sized load at 10 to 15 yards. So that was impressive. That's what I'd run out of this, that low recoil nature also makes it a little easier to handle with the 5.9 pound shotgun

Kel-Tec KS7 Review

Guess I own a bullpup now.

 This is Eric here with IRAC veteran 8888 and today we're going to be taking a look at the Kel-Tec KS-7 This is a single stack version of the popular KSG You know a lot of folks were kind of you know creeped out by this this kind of weird-looking almost kind of you know carry handles slash side assembly a Lot of folks don't know you can actually remove this assembly and put a pick rail on the top from a KSG if you wish The spacing is exactly the same for the screws So you can do that, but I felt like the the handling characteristics of this gun were pretty pretty cool You know it's it's very light and and just handy, right? You know and being a bullpup you still have a full-length barrel. You know still got an 18-inch barrel But it's you know a bullpup configuration You do lose some capacity, but you gain a little bit more sleeker compact handling characteristic we have M-Lock Accessory slots through and throughout the entire gun all right you can see that We've got a magpul sling point here on the rear and up front. I've just got a Magpul sling on there All right, I've got a laser max man array This is like a 120 lumen output flashlight now the weird thing about it is it's it's just Literally like rubber okay, you just peel it on and off of the pick rail So I've got a section a very short section of magpul polymer P rail up under this thing So we are testing to see if this light is going to jettison off of the gun and stay in place But so far seems to be holding up. I added some of the hex mag M-Lock accessory slot covers Okay, just to cover the slots and you know provide a little bit of cushioning too And you know just keeps dirt and crap from getting in there too, and let's just face it looks pretty cool, too all right, so All right, we're going to shoot the gun a little bit You know just like many of the other KSG's You know they make a 25 shot KSG now They've got the standard KSG which I think holds like I want to say like what is the standard KSG hold? 14 shots something like that so you get seven seven shots in this thing Seven in the tube and one in the chamber so you can get eight shots in it total There have been some people complaining a little bit about these guns in terms of having some teething issues in the early units That's pretty par for the course for some of the Kel-Tec products to see a bit of an issue now I've got an early KSG and I've never had a single issue out of it and just like the standard KSG You know you really do have to run these things pretty hard You want to definitely work that uh that action pretty pretty stoutly if you can help it All right, safety's on I'm gonna go ahead and plus her up All right, put my ears on this is Remington Number eight pellet or this was eight pellet double off buck low recoil Earlier we were testing this and we actually had a couple of rounds stick in the chamber the rounds that we ran in the intro That was just some federal nine pellet flight control Double off double off buck shot

 Sorry. I can't talk to today guys whoo My brains getting rattled around by all these shotguns I'm shooting I guess all right, let's try out the The Remington stuff here, I'm going to just slow down Nice No major issues there. All right, so that was some buckshot ammo Some folks were asking how these things would run mini shells I hate to report that this particular gun You know, I'm gonna try some slugs But I have found that the mini shells sometimes give some issues, but we're going to go ahead and try it just for fun All right. We'll see how many minis it holds one This is three four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven All right, eleven mini shells in this guy so what I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and Put one in the chamber now just like the standard ksg with these mini shells what I'm going to do You really have to kind of rack it hard and fast for the mini shells I know that's weird, but we're going to try that and see if I can get this thing to stop I did test the mini shells earlier a couple of weeks ago And I had an issue out of out of one tube of them

Keltec KS7

Decided to get my first 12ga shotty definitely went with a odd choice

 And in the KS-7's case, its 18.5-inch cylinder-bore barrel just barely protrudes beyond the magazine tube cap and the forearm. Now how much of a difference does it really make though? Well, to put it in perspective, a fixed stock standard Mossberg 500 with an 18.5-inch barrel measures 39

 I mean there's so much polymer on this gun that even the sight rail is all polymer. Now in lieu of a standard brass bead front sight, just the top of the end of the barrel, the KS-7 utilizes a combination carry handle, trench slash rib sight. The top of the carry handle features a 13-inch trench, at the very end of which is a triangular fiber optic front sight, which is a brilliant, brilliant green and very easy to see. Now initially I was somewhat skeptical of this unorthodox sight, but I mean in practice it was surprisingly usable and it was lightning fast for both sight acquisition and target acquisition

 So can Kel-Tek's compact, space-age scattergun hold up to the gold standard of reliability? We take a closer look at the Kel-Tek KS-7 and find out. The Kel-Tek KS-7 is a pump-action, magazine tube-fed 12-gauge shotgun. It's chambered for three inch shells and unlike Kel-Tek's other bullpup shotguns, feeds from a single magazine tube. This means the capacity of the gun is limited to either six 3-inch shells or seven 2-3 quarter inch shells

What y’all think about the rdb? I think I’ve made a complete 180 into a KelTec fanboy…

 Now things I would probably do, figure out a way to run a vertical grip. So whether that's changing the front hand guard, because while this is nice and it has that little bit of a built in hand stop, I felt like when I'm holding it here, I wanted to post my hand on that stop. And what I found was doing that, even no matter how hard I was gripping it, the recoil from the shotgun, I felt it slam my finger into the front of the gun. Now did it make me stop shooting? No, but it was enough for me to notice my hand hurts a little bit every time I shoot the gun

 It's going to have recoil. It's a 12 gauge shotgun, and I mean, yes, you're right. But I think what I've noticed with the KSG and this is that I feel like it just kicks harder. And I don't know if it's due to like this butt pad

 See how it feels. All right, so there's a couple things I want to talk about with this. If maybe, you know, you haven't already shot one, maybe you're thinking about buying one you stumble on this video. So similar to the KSG, if you've ever shot a KSG, I feel like maybe it's due to the weight of this

 So for me, I don't think I put that pick rail on it. I think I'd leave it just the way it is and use that front sight because really, it's not a bad sight. I keep, what's nice is my head is nice and upright here for my line of sight here is really nice. I don't have to get real down low
