 At 61" it is about as high as can be viewed standing, but with the low end at about 13" (& then add camera height) there are likely situations where I'd like to go lower - some of the best landscape framings are closer to the ground. Reversing the center post would allow it to go lower but shooting with the camera upside down is not for me. If K&F were to provide an ca.5" accessory center post this would solve the problem - as far as I can find there are no 3rd party post extensions of 23mm diameter that could be cut to size

 A lightweight CNC rectangular plate holder would solve this but the $49 ball head, though pricey, gives added security with a weight penalty of only a couple of ounces.

 It is very light and can easily hold steady my 3-4LB camera+lens combinations. However, the arca plate clamp section is made of a plastic resin, looks like two halves glued together - in contrast the excellent lightweight plate that attaches to the camera is made of metal (CNC cut aluminum?). The chief issue here is that one side of the actual clamp is in the form of a bridge, it is not solid. My concern is that a break here might be catastrophic for the camera or lens

 Not likely to happen if you're careful, but stuff happens in real life and for me that's maybe too many $ riding on that resin bridge. A second issue is that the housing and screw that connects the clamp to the ball is slightly raised, probably to provide extra strength because metal clamps generally have the screw recessed. This extra height bumps into both my longer plates that slide along the clamp (mine are 85mm and 100mm long) and prevents being able to use their full length to set the camera+lens center of gravity over the center of the ball head. Because I like the tripod (and it may be unique for its height/weight combination), I looked for a replacement ball head

 I use a super telephoto lens that was really too heavy for it. If it was like an $80 tripod, I might keep it. But for this price, I need something that works a little better for all my uses.

 I tried using it to take video with my camera and it was terrible. It isn't designed to do that, but I really need a tripod that works for everything instead of several different ones for all different scenarios. You either had to have the ball head tight enough that it was jerky when you moved the camera in any direction or it was loose enough that the camera would slip if it wasn't being held up with my hand, which makes the tripod useless. Perhaps because of the lightweight material or it having so many sections on the legs to keep it compact, but they are pretty bendy

Terrible for any video

The head of this tripod doesn't secure tightly down. I've been trying for days and I just can't get a sturdy lock.

The Head Wobbles

 Pretty much useless there unless you take photos of the sky. I considered swapping out the Manfrotto ball head from my other tripod as it has the tightening handle at the rear, easily accessible but I felt like I would lose the weight advantage. So, I probably wouldn't have bought this if I had know how inconveniently placed all the control/tightening handles were, but again, I do like the weight savings.  WEEKS LATER: After using this tripod for awhile I’m getting used to avoiding the design issues that caused the interference

The tripod is two pounds lighter than the one I had been using and much shorter when collapsed. I really like that! However, when I tilt the camera head towards the locking nut, there can be interference with the base of the quick release plate. I've discovered that you can pull out the spring loaded handle to reset its location but there are two issues with doing that. 1

 So, I probably wouldn't have bought this if I had know how inconveniently placed all the control/tightening handles were, but again, I do like the weight savings. However as a product designer myself I recognize that “workaround” should not be in a design engineers vocabulary. K&F contacted me and told me they have discussed the design issues with the team

Interference between QR Plate and Handle

 I do stills.  About the ball moving a bit after lockdown, can’t feel any (yet?).  About it not being stable enough for a heavy rig. I use a 100-400L attached to a Canon

After reading many reviews on a number of tripods, I bought this one because: • It is carbon fiber and has a ball head • It is as tall a I need it to be • It is light weight • It has a Monopod • It collapses to a size that fits my backpack • It is cheap  To the negative reviews about it being cheap, plastic parts, etc. um..

 Nowhere near the rated limit, but holds it well.  Bottom line is that this is a cheap tripod, but it has a combination of features that make it worth the $. I’m taking one point off for the clunkiness of flipping the center pole and switching to the monopole.

Pressing the shutter release manually will cause the tripod to jiggle for up to 5 seconds, necessitating user a timer set to 10 seconds. The ball head is not fluid and is very difficult to get to an exact position. Often the camera will sag a bit after initially setting it

Poor Quality

 I was bummed since I did not want to purchase another head, what I did was go to K&F Concept's official website and hit up customer service. I showed the problem with the ball head, sent me a new part, got my issue solved, ball head fixed, all in a timely manner and won me as a customer.

Light and sturdy, but K&F's Customer Service is what stood out to me

Great with flaws.

 The complaint I have is the ball head is small. the clamps that holds the adapter plate is very small and not to be trusted to carry your camera on the tripod.
